Thyme is located in an old house on Mobile Bay a few blocks from downtown Fairhope, AL. Dining is at a counter or a table in a glassed-in porch with a few tables on the deck. All table views look out over the bay and sunsets are magnificent. The staff are friendly and service prompt. Wine list is limited and doesn't do the great food justice but is OK.
The Food is outstanding. Fresh, well-prepared, perfect portion sizes and a great blend of local Southern ingredients such as gulf seafood and okra and more international flavors.
I had the Grouper with beans, peas, a local sausage and other veggies. Cooked to perfection, tasty and just hit the spot. Also had an oyster dip made with greens, sausage and a very flavorful sauce served with toasted pita wedges. I was sorry I had to share with my dinner guests.
Got a chance to taste their scallop dish served with a variety of roasted veggies and a cantaloupe sauce that was excellent. The scallops were cooked perfectly, crispy on top and bottom, moist and flaky inside.
Everything was extremely tasty, spice combinations that worked and attractive presentation.
