Owner description: The main shopping area in this picturesque resort town.

We were in Fairhope for a couple of nights and just so happened to be there for their 1st Friday Artwalk downtown. What a fun experience it was. The art galleries open for the evening and there are bands scattered here and there throughout the area.
Many of the galleries and shops served wine and food...and the shop-owners and employees could not have been friendlier.

Fairhope Ave. is like taking a trip back in time to a quaint small town. Friendly people, lots of shops and restaurants with a laid back feel. Will definitely visit again!

Fairhope is very pretty, it's a pleasure to just wander around the flower lines streets looking in the windows and shopping at the most interesting little stores.

Various specialty shops and restaurants for lunch are located throughout the downtown area. Wear some comfortable walking shoes and come early (9:30) for good parking. Latte Da coffee shop is a stopping place for local artists and writers. Fantasy Island Toys a great place for kids and young-minded adults. Fairhope Pharmacy is a fantastic gift shop also. The beautiful plantings around town and friendly atmosphere (store cats with beds in the shop window) make this town a special place.

Picture perfect small-town downtown, with art galleries, restaurants, real stores (not just tourist shops), a great local history museum, a spectacular state-of-the-art library, and more. The tree lights are seasonal (Nov-March), so the downtown sparkles for most of the year!
