“Disappointed. :-(”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

I am completely shocked at all of the good reviews that this place had. It might have been the time of the day that we went (late lunchtime), but I found the food to be almost inedible. There were no labels on the food at the buffet, everything was cold, and I couldn't even cut through the chicken. I think I might have had 2 bites of everything, (except for the chicken and what I think was a roll, because they were too tough to bite through).

Overall I don't think I would go again. :-(

“Passing threw town !!”
Reviewed February 1, 2014

On our way to Atlanta from Florida. Had read reviews on Tripadvisor so we stopped in. It was a buffet offering. Four meats to choose from, many veggies, desserts, and a salad bar. It was good honest home style food. It was prepared very well. Its in an old building but when you walk in the door it looks great.

“Great food with a bit of history”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

Headed for Eufala to do some sight seeing and looked up restaurants on the internet to see what was available. Saw Barb's Country Kitchen and read the reviews. We went for lunch and the reviews were right on. The food was good home cooking and you can't beat the price with a great variety of veggies and meat selections to choose from, plus salad bar and dessert. The sweet tea is delicious. The staff was friendly and made you feel really comfortable. According to the manager, the history of the hotel is that it was built around the 1880's The restaurant being located behind the old hotel was the stable where the horses, carriages, etc. were kept. If you look upstairs (it is covered) you will see the grooms' quarters. I found the restaurant (nothing should be updated) very interesting and love the history. Would definitely go back for seconds and don't judge a book by it's cover.

“Another diamond in the rough”
Reviewed October 18, 2013 via mobile

I will admit, this place looks a little sketchy. Honestly, I wouldn't have gone in if it weren't for the reputation, but so glad I did. True southern hospitality an real home made food. Best breakfast I've had in awhile and still under $6.
