“Interesting sea life”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

Someone said to be sure to read all the displays. I didn't and still enjoyed myself. (I hate reading displays and leave it for my husband to do.) We are members of the TN Aquarium and didn't think they'd have anything that we haven't already seen there, but they did--and I wonder now why the Aquarium doesn't have a display of crabs, shrimp, and lobsters like the Estuarium. They had the funkiest lobster you'll ever see: a slipper lobster. He was so goofy looking he almost didn't look real.

It was a nice place to visit and we'll definitely go back when the weather is nicer.

“Learn about the bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

The center provided a great visual picture of the diverse sea and animal life of Mobile Bay. The exhibits were very well done with a wide variety of sea animals to see and even touch. The staff was warm and friendly to children. I would try to time your visit with a feeding of the sting rays. Call ahead for the feeding schedule.

Our family typically likes low-key vacations. Time without all the commercialized "junk" you typically find in beach locations. Dauphin Island was a perfect fit! We decided to visit the Estuarium one afternoon - and wow what a treat!
Have plenty of time to visit - and soak in all the exhibits! A beautiful museum! Don't forget to like their Facebook page too - as they keep you updated and informed on programs and happenings. As I sit in Indiana - I receive their updates and long to return again soon!
This is a must see - must visit!

“You owe this to your kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is an attraction that you can take your kids to, & find plenty of things of interest to both them, & yourself.

They have exhibits geared to all ages.

The one thing it's definitely not, is a tourist trap.

It's well worth your time, & your money.

“Very well done aquarium on Dauphin Island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 22, 2013

We visited this facility on the same day as we toured Fort Gaines, and sorry to say, we ran out of time before the ferry departed. The aquarium, which they call an estuarium, is excellent, and you should not rush your way through all of the exhibits, because it takes time to read the descriptions of what you're looking at and to understand the significance of it all. I personally think you should take at least an hour at minimum, and more time would be better.
