“The best hotel of Recife”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

I travel 4-5 times a year to Recife and this is the first time, I stayed here. And from now on, I plan to stay here every time, when I go to Recife because its the best in the city. I can say this safely, after having stayed in three other high ranking hotels in Recife. This time I stayed here in this hotel, for almost 9-10 days, in a superior room on 28th floor. My review is basis my stay of 9-10 days here basis this room.

Pros :

1. Excellent room with beach view. Excellent spacious bathroom. smell/looks clean.
2. Excellent front desk. You guys rock! very efficient, very helpful, very high sense of integrity and always there to assist. No words are enough to compliment you guys. A very special thanks to "ms Cara", the manager. you rock, ma'am.
3. decent breakfast with many choices including ordering egg of yr choice.
4. Excellent hi-fi internet good enough to watch you tube or make skype calls. No broken connections. worked fantastically.
4. Round the clock hot water. Never stopped. I took bath at different times of the day on different days.
5. The hotel restaurant is adequate. Nothing great. But decent service.
6.Excellent air conditioning in the room. well controlled by remote. No noise.
7. The room has a iron board and iron.
8. The room has a safe.
9. The bed was nice , soft, big and adequate.
10. Their are 3-4 restaurants situated in walking distance from the S1 floor of the restaurant on the back side. Perfect for busy travelers.
11. Hotel is in a very safe area of town.
12. Housekeeping was very efficient.

The cons :
1. The room is not exactly noise free. Several times , I heard noise from the roof, from the room above and also from outside the door especially by housekeeping staff banging doors early in the morning. Really disturbing and irritating. Please train them!!
2. No complimentary water bottle on arrival. It costs nothing to give a complimentary water bottle to arriving guest. C'mon, hotel managers reading my review!
3. The in - room bar is very highly priced. The prices are almost tripple the actual prices.
4. The housekeeping staff does not respect the "do not disturb" sign and insisits on banging yr door early in the morning. I had to complain several times, before it eventually stopped!
5. The hotel does not have enough taxis standing nearby 24 hours a day. Several times I had to go on road to fetch the taxi. 2-3 staff guys sitting outside, to help guests continued playing with their cell phones exchanging whatsapp messages with their friends and ignoring the guests needs. They were very arrogant. Need training!
6. The gym is very ordinary and small. I wish they open a bigger gym. They have so much space!!

Overall, compared to other hotels, this is really the best. The positives are much more valuable than the negatives. I plan to stay here again. I recommend to you as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior double room on 28th floor facing the beach.

Dear Sally,
It is a pleasure to welcome you and we are very happy with your choice of staying with us.
It is very gratifying to receive all your praises and some observations which certainly contribute to better serve you and to our development.
Regarding your observations, we reinstructed the governance team to better focus on the "do not disturb" sign and to avoid moving furniture or doors during the execution of cleaning procedures, especially in the morning.
As for the taxis, we will be redirecting all drivers to better meet the needs of our guests. We suggest that in your next reservation, please copy the email maugusto@transamerica.com.br in the request, including the taxi.
We are delighted to know you intend to return and that you will be always in the city.
You are always welcome and feel free to count on us always at every opportunity!

I stayed in this hotel in December and it was very nice because we had a view of the ocean. The room was very large and there were nice options of restaurants nearby. The only problem I found was with the pool, it was not clean, there were a lot of skin debris (or something similar) floating. And also the food and beverage items were too expensive.

The Transamerica Hospitality Group appreciates the comment, glad to have provided you a pleasant stay.
We would have liked to have better met your expectations and shall check more closely the pool maintenance so that situations like this do not occur again.
As of our values practiced in the hotel, they are equivalent to hotels of the same category in the region, but we hope that it does not interfere with future stays with us and that you come back soon!

I was very pleased with this hotel in Recife Brazil. The hotel is designed smartly. Every room has an ocean view. It's new and fresh. The format mirrors it's sister hotel, Beach Class, which is two buildings down. The rooms are very nice. They have a nice pool area and a nice exercise facility. The pool area is largely blocked by the building during the afternoon, thus, only a sliver of the pool area is sunny in the afternoon. I really enjoyed walking across the street to the ocean beach. For less than $10 USD, I can a cabana for the day with 2 chairs and a table. Cool.

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view; the higher you go, the farther you'll see.

I have stayed for one night in january at this hotel, and its a pity that there is no sense of hospitality, and service,

restaurant is just one of those typical hotel buffet style restaurant, with a traditional menu
I decided to choose a vichysoise soup, and a local recepie for shrimps.
Well vichysoise soup turn to be a hot potato and leak soup, and shrimps recife style, shrimps with rice and sweet potatos with an indefinede sauce.

Break fast just a traditional buffet where the cook was unable to prepare a cheese omelette

as always, TV channels are all in portugueese the connection is bad. At least internet is ok.

I love Brazil and his people, but please make an effort open your eyes and train your people in service, languages, and look around the world for service training

This hotel was long "overdue" in a big touristy city like Recife. I used to stay at the old Recife Palace when it was considered the best hotel in the city, but I have to say that the Transamerica is a top class hotel and far superior to the old Recife Palace and now called "Golden Tulip".
The front desk, concierge and everyone at the Transamerica are courteous, friendly and truly care about the guests.
Congratulations and keep up your high standards!

Transamerica hotel
It's far from being good.
Im sorry to say but Brazilian people have no idea about good hotels.
Especially for foreigners. They are totally lost.
The building is new but it looks old already. The restaurant looks more like a cafeteria. The idea of good service is far from whatever they offer.
The bathrooms don't have one rack to hang towels!

The hotel is a modern and imponent 36 store building seafront in Boa Viagem. All suítes has a breatheless sea view and are very confortable. If it was enough to make a good hotel, this could be one of the in the world, however service is also paramount. In this topic Transamerica is a disaster. Room service take > 1 hour to delivery an order, air conditioning was out of order because there were no batteries in remote control, maintenance took another hour to replace batteries. No conveniemces to shop at hotel or nearby, hughe delay on check out, and much more....
