We heard that Parraxaxa was specialized in typical food from northeast Brazil. I like a lot. They offer a huge variety of food and a great selection of salad. The octopus stew was great. The other plates as well. The only thing I did not like was the fish stew. The desert was also diverse. Everything is sold by weight but “cartola”, a typical desert from Pernambuco made with fried banana covered with “coalho” cheese (typical cheese only found in North and northeast Brazil) with little of sugar and cinnamon. The staff is really nice. The place is handicap accessible.

Pleasant location for authentic regional food; wide selection of dishes - from starters, main courses to desserts. Informal atmosphere. Spacious and informal. Suited for groups. Friendly staff.

This “a kilo” restaurant is famous for serving the food of the Pernambuco region. There is a lot of choice, too much maybe, as it is difficult to try everything. I was not really impressed by the taste and quality of the main dishes and salads that I tried. The desserts were a bit better. The atmosphere is nice with typical decorations and the service was fine too. The artisanal beer I tried was rather expensive.
