First, the bad news: inert, indifferent staff (with limited language skills) and rooms that remind one of 1950s North American motel style. Breakfast was ordinary. Sometimes the airconditioning does not work, although when this happened to me, I was moved to another room where it did. On the plus side of the ledger, the location is excellent in Olinda, and the hotel's sumptuous gardens are worth a night's stay (or a drink at the bar) even if not thing else recommended it. As well, the art work in the hotel's public rooms is lovely. So, did I enjoy it? Yes, on balance, but not enough to stay for more than one night, especially at the hotel's inflated rates. (I moved to the Pousada do Ampoaro, overall a much better experience).
