“Spacious clean rooms and bathroom”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Family run with clean spacious rooms en suite bathroom with hot water showers .
Staff were obliging and help with bags was available when requested.
Food available in adjoining restaurant or room service - Chinese and Indian dishes or plain omelette and toast!
Convenient for the Airport and easy to pick up a taxi outside. .Good value for money.

Located on the main road, just opposite to Salt Lake Stadium's Gate #1. As a friend booked and paid for the room, I don't know if it was value for money (it should be a budget friendly place) and can't comment on the ease of booking. Hot water, air-conditioner, fan, cable TV, a bottle of water, two glasses and a half-length dressing mirror were available in the room. A towel (I guess they would give you another one if you asked them for it), one small bar of soap were also placed. The beds, pillows and bed sheets were clean, however, the rugs had a lot of fine dust on them.

Not nit-picking, but here are some things one should know beforehand:
Didn't eat at the guest house, so can not comment on the quality/pricing of food. No lift - if you have a big bag, it may get tough. No telephones in the room, no internet either. We were out late on one of the days and were back at a little after mid-night. The guest house shutters were locked from outside and we had to get them to open the side door to let us in - let the folks at the reception know if you're coming in late.

Tip #1: The guy across the road right next to the stadium, who serves food on a push-cart, makes excellent tea.
Tip #2: I did notice some rooms didn't have an attached bathroom. You may have to specifically request for a room with one.

I have been visiting
kimlawn guest house since last 5 yrs,one looks for the comfort and Kimlawn has met all the requirements perfectly, the hotel is located at the prime location where things are easily accessible for ex; malls, theater, etc. Transportation is a major issue in many cities but staying here resolves all those issues. Just a call away and the room is booked. Staffs are very polite and helpful and they understand the customers need. Never had to think of any other accommodation since i started visiting regularly.

I was brought up to this guest house from the airport by a cab driver. My purpose of stay was an interview at sector v.
Decent rooms, clean toilets (that's the most important thing in a hotel at least to me) calm and quite location. Friendly staff behaviour.

I stayed here barely for a few hours landing in Kolkatta till I caught a train to Jamshedpur early am. The hotel is nice and clean, located next to the sprawling Hyatt. We landed at 12.00am at the doorstep and wondering what to do with all the shutters down. When we called the number a very helpful individual whose name I never caught came out and assisted us in. Normally staff at budget hotels would grumble to have been woken up at such an ungodly hour, but he was not. He was very helpful in showing us to our rooms and also assisted us early at 5 am without complaints. The rooms itself was neat and had clean toilets. I do not have much to add given the short duration of the stay, but this is a good place to bunk if you are in transit.
