Kolkatta is still a lovely city. This hotel suited me because my workplace was a mere ten minutes and in Kolkatta traffic is quite woeful. However, the hotel was decent. Good breakfast, service was prompt. Rooms though spacious could do with some refurbishment . Good value.

The main advantage is the location, its a old hotel not all done up, the window AC was dissapointingly old, with shabby knobs, and most importantly making more noise than cooling. It can be a good Business Hotel, due to loaction advantage, but they should replenish the whole hotel, they have done it at certain places only. Food was good, the buffet breakfast was having good spread. i liked the freshly cut fruit most.Over all good.stayed on 27-29may 2014

Room Tip: take the rooms in the new building.

Good location if you want something central located

Staff was good and responsive.

Bed are very bad condition with coir mattresses , totally outdated concept. today most 3 star hotels also offer better bedding quality

The air-conditioning was terrible. The window air-conditioner is installed at floor level

The furniture in the room is very old

Toilets are recently done , but them also done with old model fixtures and taps

Breakfast arverage selection

Big size Rooms , not many hotels have this advantage

Ok for business travelled who will forgo comfort for location,

Stayed for a couple of nights. The lobby and courtyard are fine, however rooms and hotel corridors were average, more home-like than a hotel really (I am partial to duvets), which was a let-down considering they charged five grand for the room. My room was in a separate building across from the structure housing the lobby, maybe the rooms in the main structure could be better. The food was average.

I got this hotel for a few nights due to a mix up! Really an European hotel situated near new market and trying to have best of both worlds. Very expensive for India I feLt I ha.d been ripped off. The rEstaurant serves good range of breakfast choices but you might as well stay in Europe. Very supercilious front room staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a window looking onto the street rather than a blank wall and rubbish.
