A very good hotel, excellent location in Kolkata, premium service provided by all the staff. Room comfortable but... thought I booked a Room Premier the bathroom was surprisingly and incredibly very small! This is why I rate Oberoi hotel with a 4 only and not a 5More

Awesome awesome..been to all the big hotel in kolkata at the moment but nothing beats The Oberoi Grand Hotel hospitality..this my third time staying with them and always been liaising via email once booking is done..my special request..greeting all day by their lovely staff..it start from front desk till the housekeeping team each and everyone makes feel at home..even when your under weather they will provide a remedy for speedy recovery with smile..just awesome..special thanks..vicky(front desk)..koushik(housekeeping) and entire booking team..and each and every staff just awesome..even the concierge n front door ever so welcoming service was just up to the par..thank you grand for the lovely stay looking forward for many more to come..awesome team work

Stayed here for a night whilst on some business travel. The hotel is old, and could use refurbishment - there is no doubt. But what the facility lacks in modern-ness, the warmth and keen attention to detail of the staff makes up for. I do wonder why anyone would want to stay at any other property if there is an Oberoi around.

The Oberoi Grand is as its name suggests, a grand building in the centre of Kolkata, ideally placed as a base for many of the sightseeing attractions of the city.
Though its glory is faded in parts, it remains and oasis of calm and high standards just metres from the bustle and cacophony of the main road outside.
Facilities include 2 main restaurants and a well maintained pool where chilled water is brought without asking. Prices in the restaurants are not low but not outrageous either and one of the ways that the Oberoi differentiates itself from the other high end hotels is in the discouragement of tipping staff directly and setting high service standards. Free WiFi was good and Room service was particularly attentive. That said, an eagerness to please in the dining room at breakfast resulted in multiple requests for orders of team coffee and food from several different waiting staff and it looks like there’s a layer of management missing there to co-ordinate everything.
Rack rates are fairly high but if you can find a good spot price, it’s worth the pampering for a few days.

The Oberoi Grand is my favorite place to stay in kolkata. The name Grand is justified in everyway for this hotel. I love their hospitality and feel like owning the place while staying there! The location is excellent if you intend to shop in Kolkata... The breakfast is very good especially their juice bar is unique. My kids love their waffle with ice cream. We stayed their many times but last time we stayed for 5 nights-- higher than in any other times. All the staffs in the reception area is also very good. I like the fruit platter and surprise pastry in the room. Overall it is a great experience every time we visit the hotel.
