We entered this trip with some trepidation as Vivek the organiser attempted to kidnap me even before I'd paid for the trip. However, after a short wait for the craziest taxi driver ever the trip was under way. An interesting journey through the Kolkatta jungle to Sundraban. Breakfast and Chai provided en route. We then took a lesuirely boat Journey to the hotels in Sundraban where we would be based for the next 3 days. The first evening was a sunset bird watching boat trip very relaxing. Food was prepared upon arrival and was traditional Indian fair. A few beers followed and the hosts even allowed us to use their internet it was all good fun. An early start followed and then onwards to another boat trip with guide from the tiger reserve. Unfortuneatley no tigers spotted but plenty of crocodiles wild boar and dear. Food was provided on board the boat and again was lovely. Lazy day in the sun chugging along on a traditional boat. That evening we were entertained by traditional indian music. Along with beers and guitar with are two hosts V and V. My friend was that enamoured he stayed in the hosts tents. He wanted to get back to basics he said. Toilet facilities and food hotel etc all excellent with cable tv and showers very clean. Met the owners of the hotel as well who were all accomadating to our needs. A few small shops on the islands selling local honey and traditional nick nacks. We ended up on a boat the second day and then a late night return to Kolkatta. All in all a great expereicnce I wont forget and made some great friends V & V Rohit and Santos. Hoping them all the best in the future and realising their dream of being the number 1.
THanks again guys
