Being Indian our fondness for Chinese food is understandable. Being from Calcutta, which invented the Chop Suey and Chilli fish, we come across a vast array of Chinese food to tickle our taste buds.
Years ago, I happened to be invited to Eau Chew, to sample their simple preparations which are non-spicy and very palatable. I fell in love with their offerings and have been going back for almost twenty years now.
Amongst my favourites are the Chimney Soup, Josephine's Noodles and the minced chicken on a sugarcane stick - I forget the name but it looks similar to a Satay.
I also like the fact that we can drop in and just order a soup - they don't mind at all. The family runs the business hands-on and keeps the place washed down and clean at all times.
It is a short walk away from Tiretti Bazaar where the Chinese set up a market early every morning.
Eau Chew also accept catering orders.
