It is a hotel which provides value for money.

The rooms are very good with nice airconfditioner excellent bed, clean toilet & a bath tub.

The hotel offers good breakfast which is complimentary & the restaurant offers wide variety of food items.

On the whole a great hotel for the price.

Enjoy the stay at this hotel by adding a visit to the nearby tea stall in the same lane. Here the tea is served in clay matkas making it refreshing and different.
The rooms are well made and comfortable. The quick service too is appreciated. The complimentary breakfast spread is not very lavish but definately adequate for the reasonable rates that is charged for the rooms.
This hotel has a pub that has a very good ambience. The live music and good service gets you into a relaxed mood for the evening.
During some of my stays at this hotel I go shopping in M G Road which is 5-8 mins away from the hotel and many major malls and shops are located.
Not very far from this hotel is the Chinese Lane where breakfast is served on carts in the early mornings. Steaming momos, noodles, fish stew etc. The scene is very different and one of a kind that I have seen till date.
Comfortable stay in reasonable rates is the sum up for this hotel.

Excellent...!!! Tthat's what you would say when you experience your stay at Kenilworth.

I was booked at Kenilworth and never imagined what a brilliant property was I going to stay at.

Right from the Lobby to Front desk warmth to the room.....each and every aspect of the hotel outshines the other.

It is one of the rare hotels that not only gives complimentary mineral water, tea/coffee makrer, but also complimentary beer and 500 ml of an aerated soft drink. Pretty cool..!!

The rooms are fresh and all rooms give a decent view of the city.

The breakfast was simply outstanding, was sooooo lavish that never felt like having lunch after that.

Good professional staff.

The hotel is still living in the nineties which had its own advantages and disadvantages...
It still has a very awkward setting of the front desk with a "Cashier" window similar to what we will see in most nationalized banks (Even they have done away with it mostly)
The amenities in the room are of the 90ies...
Apart from the infrastructure, the employees were warm and friendly and very very caring...
Overall - not a bad place to be for a business trip...

We were a multigenerational group (parents, grandparents, toddler) travelling thru India for 2 weeks. Researching from the US, I struggled to find quality, midpriced accomodation options in Kolkata; indeed, we only came across the Kenilworth thru my Kolkata relatives.

We had an enjoyable stay in modern, very clean rooms. The location is very good - 10 minute walk to Park Street and quick drives to the Victoria Memorial and the Forum mall. Moreover, the staff were very accomodating and friendly as my son ran around. Given the paucity of midpriced options in Kolkata, I think the Kenilowrth is a very good choice.

First this hotel is the OLD Kenilworth Hotel at 7 Little Russel Street. It should not be confused with the newer modern Kenilworth at the other end of the street.

It has been owned by the same family of Armenian origin for many years and is a gem. If you want a modern hotel with no character this is not for you. If you want an old fashioned Indian house with very large rooms, high ceilings, ceiling fans and old furniture this is a little oasis set in it's own grounds, with a pleasant garden and only 5 minutes walk from Park street. The owner and his family live on the ground floor.

It may not be everyone's 'cup of tea' (the only negative point I can think of is that the A/C units are a tad noisy) but having experienced a number of hotels in India this was truly different and reasonably priced.

Booking were easily made with the owner via the internet, we were expected despite checking in a 3.00 a.m. in the morning after an overnight flight.

We loved it!
