I was on a business trip for 2 days and stayed again at Hotel Chrome. Normally I stay here only.. The location is perfect, stay comfortable

The hotel needs to be more caring on the room service. I ordered food twice for dinner and both times the food was uncovered when brought to the room which is very strange. This I have never seen anywhere

Otherwise the stay, place, food quality, ambience has been quite good

Generally, a guest should not write against the staff, specially because it is hospitality industry; and the career of youngsters may depend on reviews/ comments of the guests. But, I can not help myself and have to say that staff (including at the front desk) was utmost lazy. They probably did not have the know-how (less than expertise) how to complete the check-in formalities fast. I am not saying that they did not act fast; I am saying that they were lazy and took nearly 3 hours to complete the formalities, and we had our coffee (with snacks) - at our own expense, in the meantime.
However, the hotel property is good, located on the main Bose Road, and well-maintained. The lifts, passages, restaurants, coffee bar and the Bar etc are all beautiful. The food was a little better than good. But again a dis-appointment came in the form of bath room/WC of the hotel room. It was not a comfortable bath at all.
All said and done, a good hotel within its category; and for a short stay.

Room Tip: Almost all the rooms are equal. You have to put the curtains on.

I stayed here once in May 2012. There is nothing to write to good about this property but many many bad.
1. Colors on the wall in rooms are very dark and looks shabby.
2. No maintenance of bathrooms. Everywhere dirty and leakage of water.
3. Breakfast is free but you have to request many times for refills. Most of the staff in restaurant remain always busy in their private work.
4. Very noisy due to heavy traffic.
5. No courtesy in the front desk staff. Very arrogant.

I don't know who has categorized this property a small luxury boutique hotel. It should be reassessed again.

Excellent service (I asked a was given a packed breakfast at 5am), very good ample room. Very nice amenities, cable tv, minibar not too expensive. Close to most atractions in Kolkata. It was great to have the pool to refresh after a very hot and humid day.
If I want to be picky, a hotel in this price range should have better quality towels and above all, window insulation should be better as Kolkata's overwealming noise filters intp the room.

Loved everything about the hotel. Went there to spend a night. Amazing room with one of the best beds I have seen ever. Really comfortable.

High flow jet shower was another perk. I remember bathing for over an hour.

As far the pricing of the room is considered, I remember paying around 5k for a theme room.

There are so many positive things to say about this hotel I hate to bring out the negatives. However, the value of trip advisor is to allow each traveller to make up there own mind by taking all things into consideration.

The complimentary breakfast buffet is great and served in the main restaurant. The location is good, very near Park Street and shopping.

Rooms are smartly decorated and furnished.

The staff, for the most part, are courteous and helpful.

One negative is the proximity to a Muslim mosque, evidently. The 5:00 AM "Call to Prayer" is EXTREMELY loud right next to Hotel. You WILL NOT sleep through it!

I booked 4 rooms and one room was very late being delivered. I later found out that the reason why was because water was leaking down from the 7th floor. The room was delivered with a wet towel lying on the bathroom floor and continued to leak the whole time.

Even in light of the negatives I would stay there again.

Who writes all these wonderful reviews? Small and noisy rooms, unhelpful reception-staff as noted by many other reviewers. The location is reasonably convenient but that is about all.The proximity of the extemely busy main road makes for noise almost all the time.

Room Tip: well away from road
