When you book a hotel room for Rs. 2617 including breakfast, what do you imagine the hotel to be like?
Okay, don't imagine the room. Imagine where you are going to have that breakfast? In the hotel restaurant?
Welcome to Hotel Trimoorti in Kolkata. Our booking of this hotel from makemytrip promised us a breakfast.
This pigeon hole of a hotel which opens up down a narrow one-way gully and to get into which you have to literally walk sideways doesnt have a restaurant or dining hall!!!
The breakfast that they promised is something that they bring in from a neighbourhood dhaba wrapped in aluminium foil and serve in your room.
Needless to say, we opted out of this offer purely because we didn't know which roadside vendor this might originate from!

Trimoorti hotel is a good choice for people who have appointments in the Park street/Elgin Road area. It is about an hour away from the airport.

Beware that most taxi drivers dont know Ray Street where the hotel is located or the hotel itself so if you are going to land late at night either use your cell phone as a GPS or ask the taxi driver to go to Forum mall and take a right from in front of Max shop.

Further details:

Pros:
- Hotel is situated in a relatively clean, lively area
- Easy to find taxis,rickshaws,buses
- Shopping centers like Forum are located very close to the Hotel if you want to shop, eat fast food or go for a movie
- Attractions such as the Birla Planetarium and Victoria Memorial are within Rs.50 of a distance by taxi
- Hotel cleaning services clean floors and bathroom everyday and change bed sheets and towels
- Bed sheets, blankets and towels are mostly clean without stains or odors
- Food can be ordered at any time and service is quick
- The desk staff is very helpful.

Cons:
- The biggest problem is people obnoxiously honking loud horns from 6 in the morning! Hotel needs to invest in better sound resistance like thicker windows and better insulation. Dont leave your bathroom door open at night because most of the noise comes from the bathroom windows.
- Bathroom's drain doesnt drain properly and dirty water gets stuck for a long time
- Food ordered from hotel costs ridiculously high
- ACs are old and take a long time to cool the room

Room Tip: I stayed in 102. Pretty good room.

I had a sudden trip to Kolkata for some personal work. And unfortunately none of my friends were there at the time. I stayed at this hotel and I must say the experience was not only wonderful but very comforting as it made getting my way around the city mush easier. It easy on the pocket and gives you every service you require at great quality. Most importantly ( for me atleast) the hygiene level and service was upto mark. I was provided with all the help I needed being a first timer in the city and more importantly I left a happy customer. Keep up the good work, I do see myself coming back :)

My first visit to the city of Kolkata, I wanted to stay in a hotel that makes me feel so homely ... Hotel Trimoorti was a small cozy comfortable hotel with very homely environment. It was a like a home away from home and being a small hotel it the staff gave complete attention to me & guided me very with kolkata city. The location was just what i needed it was perfect... it was centrally located. It was very reasonably priced... Overall a hotel tromoorti was a excellent experience for my first visit to kolkata city.

Room Tip: Rooms are quieter and very centrally located for travel within kolkata city.

Benefits
- good location - 10 minutes to metrostation, big mall near, few good restorants, fruit point on other end of street
- price for ac rooms in another hotels in this area is higher
and thats all)
Things you can change
- bathroom is not clean (true, even my door has sign of fingers) - but you can buy domex and clean it by yourself in 20 minutes
- no cover for sleep - but you can bring your sleeping bag
- no water bottles / no fridge - but you can buy a little fruits every day and dont save them for long (*hehe but thanks for fresh newspapers under door every day)
Things you cant change (and why i moved to salt lake)
- total head breaking noise, this street is not main road (and you wait to be a little bit more silent) but it worse and whole hotel is not sound-protected
- stuff dont worry about anything to do - when i come, my room was smelled of tobacco, but all they can do was air-fresh deo, to make it smell like chemical citron, the same about cleaning the room (again thanks for newspapers)
- internet speed is not higher then 50Kb/s, and can be even lower when everybody comes back
