The hotel is situated at the heart of Darjeeling.
Its the best place to stay if you are going for a romantic trip. Check out various packages provided by them.
Go for the Attic premium room. Its worth it!

The hotel is an average hotel with good interiors. From the terrace you get to see the mountains, but unfortunately you also get to see the ugly roofs of buildings around. The rooms are comfortable, clean and cozy. The pictures from the British period adorn the walls beautifully. Food is standard fare. Actually everything about this hotel, except for the heritage photographs, is a standard fare, nothing stands out at all in either good or bad way. Oh, yes, the TV remote did not work and the hotel staff could not make it work, which considering the channel browsing habits of my child, was a boon.

We stayed for 5 nights and as it was off season managed to negotiate a rate of just 3500 pd for an executive room including a fantastic breakfast which is about 50% discount on rate card.

Many, many positives and I would highly recommend. A comfortable room with plenty of heat and hot water (often not guaranteed even in 4* hotels in India). Whenever we called to ask for more pillows or hot water (for tea) the staff delivered in minutes with a smile. Stunning, panoramic views from our room and a great roof terrace also. A lovely wood fire lit in the evenings in the really nice reception area. Free wifi in the hotel reception area which always worked despite the internet being down in most of the internet cafes several times a day.

On the negative side the mattress, although super king size was not very comfortable for me as I have a bad back. The room felt a bit damp to begin with but Darjeeling itself is very humid. Later we discovered that almost everywhere is the same. I mentioned it to the reception and they sent someone to clean the room again which did make a difference.

With India, especially in remote parts, you are never going to get the same standard as you would expect in Europe or USA but by Indian standard this is a brilliant hotel.

The front glass doors were filthy, That should of been the first sign for me to turn around and leave! The staff wasnt too friendly. The carpet in room was filthy. Stains all over the rooms. Looks like they rarely vacuum. The hotel was full of cigarette smell. I had a real hard time opening and closing the windows.

I will never stay at one of these hotels again. I cannot believe we paid money for this.

Darjeeling, a beautiful place in heavens and at the same time staying in a 5 star luxury kind of hotel, what else could one asks for. It’s so centrally located in the midst of town that you can feel you are viewing the entire Darjeeling. Whenever you open your eyes you can see the world’s most beautiful mountain ranges-Himalayas. I believe no other hotel could have offered me that spectacular view in Darjeeling.
The hospitality is very nice and beyond my imagination. It was my 1st visit at north east part of India, but they took good care of us. We were late but they called and checked if we were alright and would be making it or not. Being winters there was problem of electricity, but they gave us hot bags, more wood for the fire chimney. We were well informed about this inconvenience that could be caused. It was not their fault that’s how it happens in Darjeeling.
Breakfast and buffet lunch is very nice a combo of desi and videsi breakfast. We had special Jain meal served for us.
Coming to the rooms… beautiful, spacious, neat, clean, nice wooden touch to give flavor of English style. We had 2 kinds of room booked for us:- twin bedroom and a Attic room. Twin bedroom was normal 4star kind of room , but the best was attic room. One if stays there should stay in Attic room, which has the fire space, best view, private area on the terrace, and is very cozy and romantic.
I would also like to comment on their site which had genuine photos and reality. I had gambled with this hotel only on the basis of their site and it came out to be one of the best hotels in my entire trip. Surely recommend people to stay nowhere else but there!

The room and hotel was much much below expectation especially since I went there after reading these tripadvisor reviews. The hotel manager, Raj was there just too loot you on your transport arrangement. They were not willing to accommodate even the simplest request of serving dinner at 9 PM (as kitchen closes at 8.30 PM) . Even the room was not very clean and services were just very average, no value for money at all.
