This is about the great Himalayas. It showcases the indominatable spirit of human race . It really surprises you that people despite severe odds thought to do unthinkable deeds in times gone by.The place is a must visit for young children with impressionable minds.

The Mountaineering institute is more or less a museum which gives a peek into rich history of mountaineering. The artifacts are carefully preserved and the entire experience is very informative. I particularly liked the interactive model of entire Himalayan mountain range and associated rivers.

The museum is in the premises of the zoo. Lot of material about mountaineering, interesting artifacts. You can easily spend there 1 hour, if you also want to read some of the displays, not only run through. It has to be combined with the visit of the zoo.

great displays - lots of artefacts, well displayed - memorial to Tenseng Norgay was particularly poignant. It certainly makes the whole history of the Everest expeditions come to life.
