uncontrolled typical government attitude no one to look no one to teach respect there were lot many things which one could explain and people will have respect. The visitors were just moving here and there no one was there to take care, In short ----------------------------------------------------------------- a fustrating expireance from care taker but most inspiring place.

The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was an interesting experience, even if you are not into mountain climbing. It is where Tenzing Norgay helped train future mountain climbers. The museum houses many mountaineering memorabilia, including Sherpa Tenzing's old mountaineering equipment.

There is a small restaurant at the institute which does tasty vegetarian momos (among other food) and a warming cup of tea.

The Mountaineering Institute is right next to the Darjeeling Zoo. There are also a group of stalls along the way for snacks and shawls (The saffron is a particularly good bargain if you are used to the exorbitant prices in western countries)
