A good experience in some aspects. In a strategically beneficial location in the centre of Darjeeling, it is in a great setting for any tourist visiting the town. The location was well-chosen, with coniferous forests, the hills and the town all in close proximity to the hotel. Mount Kachenjunga can be viewed from a few select rooms if the weather is clear. The restaurant has delicious and fresh traditional food in the evenings at 'Terrace garden' as all food is specifically prepared fresh there, but the breakfasts weren't that good and should include some more continental options. Tea is good as Darjeeling is famous for it. Service staff linger outside in the main hall doing nothing but that can be beneficial at times. The rooms were like mini-apartments (rooms 201 and 107) with a good shower and a small TV. The only bad point was the mould-encrusted blankets, so for anyone with allergies it can prove to be a very irritating night. Good drivers employed, especially on the poor roads. Altogether, a good experience.
