“Fantabulous!”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

Been an avid mountain lover since childhood and having conquered few mountains in Himalayas earlier the sight of the 3rd highest mountain in the world and the highest mountain in India was simply magnificent and breath taking. Although the view from the hustle-bustle sounds of the crammed and over crowded, packed to its maximum capacity town of Darjeeling seemed lame but the sleeping buddha was a sight to behold. We had come back from a trek conquering the tallest peak in West Bengal - Sandhakpu and had seen Kanchenjunga from an elevation of 13,500 feet the vista was still incredible. Heard quite a few stories from the trek guides and camp leaders of the enormous challenge the climb to this peak has to offer but India have this dream to conquer and climb. Amen!

“top of the world”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

Seeing the sunrise at Tiger Hill, the pink glow of the sun first hitting the mountains followed by the sun appearing on the opposite side was an amazing experience.
And sitting in the garden of the hotel, suddenly to notice the clouds shift and the peaks of the Kanchengunga appear seemed like magic.

Simply something you can't dislike...though you have to be patience..as it will play hide & seek with you...but once you have a view of the same...that's the one most memorable time you will ever cherish.......you can't catch it in a camera but only in your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Nature at its best”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

The mountain is awe inspiring. On my first day in Darjeeling there was cloud cover hampering the view, but from the next morning the view from the window of Darjeeling Tourist Lodge was terrific. People do travel in the morning to Tiger Hill for a better and closer view but we decided against in view of the cold. The view from Darjeeling is no less either. One can never get tired of clicking pics. The best place to shoot the mountain is from the garden of Lal Kuthi, the famous bunglow featured in many bollywood movies. Best time to watch is early morning when the haze is minimum.

“What a backdrop!”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

As a photographer and traveling through India i knew that we had to make our way up north to see Mt Kanchenjunga. When we first arrived in Darjeeling this beauty of a backdrop was towering in the distance and just commands attention. We booked a room with a view of Kanchenjunga and i must say i spent most of my free time staring out the window at this amazing piece of nature.
