“Lovely way to travel through the tea plantations”
Reviewed January 21, 2014

I travelled on the toy train on my way to Calcutta (via Siliguri). Although it takes a lot longer than a shared jeep, it is a great experience and you get to see a whole lot more of the mountains and plantations around Darjeeling.

“Not Recommended !”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

I had in mind of Jungle and Trees. But its only in market Area. Most of the things you check during other sight seeing.

If you have craze the go otherwise its not worthy.

“Better in snaps!”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

We booked the tickets for the toy train journey a day before and were quite excited about it. But like many such 'could be' amazing experiences, this one turned out flat. The train was in a sorry state and the journey was nothing as imagined. The area where the scenery is picturesque had been discontinued due to a land slide and there was nothing really in it to see.

“Beautiful Train Journey”
Reviewed January 14, 2014

We have been on the toy train. Its just beautiful. We went there through the Gangtok darjeeling Tour package through Country Travel mart. Of the whole journey this train journey was best.

“Trash!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

While the original Steam Engine train is no doubt still charming, the Darjeeling Toy train is another example of how we Indians have treated our heritage with disdain. Run less than half of its original journey now, from Kurseong to Darjeeling due to a landslide a decade back which has cut its journey from Kurseong onwards to the plains. The track runs on the road so all you would get to see from the train is mass construction and destruction of the Darjeeling hills and smell diesel fumes of the hundreds of vehicles on the road instead of fresh mountan air!!
