“A peaceful place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 5, 2012

Worth a visit for the serenity and peace around. The Buddha statue and murals around is a treat to watch! Watching tree line in the misty environment is an experience!

“Average Monastery to stop-by”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2012

We visited this monastery on our way back from the Tiger Hill. This historic monastery looks good from a distance. Inside there is nothing much to see or do. There is a 15-feet high statue of "Maitreya Buddha" in the monastery. It also contains images of Buddha’s disciples, Chenrezi and Chongapa. The place is peaceful, and offers photo opportunities.

“one time visit”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2012

If you have visited the rumtek monastry in gangtok, then you will feel it very smaller. Otherwise its a one time visit. One good thing is the road shops in this. There is some good handicraft items to purchase.

We enjoyed our visit to the Monastery itself and also made some excellent purchases of prayer bowls from the monks.
