when we reached samsing after visiting jhalong, bindu & parron on the way from jaldhaka in the almost evening time, i was mesmerized by the sheer natural beauty of the place. The owner Mr. Kamal Giri & his wife were the best host of a holiday rental we visited in dooars. although we were late to reach his place but we were served tasty lunch at first & were transferred to our rooms which were just superb 7 were advised to go up the hillock in front upon which his in-laws house was situated. On the north was huge hills under neora vally bordering Bhutan & green was all around.Roads were not metallic but the people were simple & in the evening we celebrated the birthday of a child & treated with Nepali way of celebration with a mix from urban way.The whole house has a beautiful architecture & with gardens all around and foods served on pure kangsha utensils has a touch of ethnicity. In the morning next day we discovered murti river down the gorge behind the house when in the tranquility of the morning the roaring sound of river could be heard and what a small but nice garden full of fruits & flowering trees where butterflies were flying around to collect their quota of honey,it was a experience really. When we went up the hill after having food on day 1,we were for a surprise when we reach the top,as the pa-in-law of Mr.giri showed us how he was cultivating different things above that hill.Even he accompanied us when we came down by a different way,it was tough but a real experience for all of us.

If you want to stay 2 or 3 days in peace and tranquility, donot like the crowd,no need for marketing then only come at chalsa and samsing. We take a bus from miital bus stand to reach chalsa more.Fare is only Rs 40/head and duration of journey is only 1.5 hrs.The most cost effective place to stay at chalsa is PWD bunglow of W.B govt. Can anybody imagine that the tariff is only Rs180/ head.Child upto 10yrs is free.(for booking see the website of PWD west bengal). The caretaker of the bunglow cooked our food at very nominal charge. We are the only visitor in the bunglow,so truely we are the owner of this beautiful wooden bunglow for this 2days.The location of PWD chalsa is excellent. The place is surrounded by hills. You can see river kurti from the terrace. To reach samsing one can board any bus or share jeep going to meteli from chalsa and take another share jeep fro meteli to reach samsing. The bus and jeep service is frequent enough. Some homestays are available at samsing fari basti, but as per my view it will be more thrilling if one stay at WBFDC cottages at suntaleykhola which is just 3 km away from fari basti. We came back at chalsa after spending few hours at samsing.Chalsa, samsing and santaleykhola are situated on the same route,so one can stay at any of these places to cover all the 3 points.

Samsing is a beautiful place to visit for a day trip along with Suntalekhola and others. Dooars has always been in my list of places of interests. Places like Samsing makes the place more beautiful with tea gardens, hills etc.

We went for sightseeing to Samsing and Suntalekhola from Murti on our way to Lataguri. If you are in Dooars, Samsing is a good place to visit.
