“Dont give this place a miss.....”

Rock garden was the best experience in our current darj trip...you can rent a car in just below the mall near keventers include ghoom monastery orange valley tea estate rock garden..batasia loop..and ropeway for a big family entire car for 1600 rs..9am to 4 pm...other places like zoo mahakal temple or mountaineering institute can be visited by walking and enjoying the observatory hill on the way... rock garden is a steep downhill journey..not advisable for people scared of heights...the garden is well maintained with water falls at various levels..cool for selfie captures ....one can walk on the rocks or climb stairs and bridges later beingthe better option...enjoy flowing water flowers..greens..places to sit..bring along snacks to munch while enjoying the nature...on the way downhill obe can wait and have a beautiful view of orange valley tea estate... good family outing...

“Loved it!”
Reviewed April 26, 2014

It is a bit remote area and most of the sightseeing cars are not interested to go there but we convinced our driver to go there.... And it was beautiful.... Totally loved it. There is a nice waterfall and a garden has been made around it with lot of colourful flowers.

“Rock Garden visit --- a down hill thrilling trip”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

The road in between the orange valley was so thrilling because of it's steep hilly road. I saw road is under construction. Hope it will finish soon. But now the last 4-5 KM road is bad. But your four wheeler can take you there easily. It is worth to get there...

its nearly 10 km away from main town, nothing much but serene beauty of the valley , its a man made fall but equally well maintained, i had a good time with my gf nonetheless she was totally exhausted but even then quite a place to romance....haha!!

“Waterfalls and flowers - a hard combination to beat!”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

Also called Rock Park, the gardens are landscaped in multiple tiers surrounding the Chunnu Summer Falls that cascade down the hillside from far above. You can see the waterfalls from quite a distance during the ride from Darjeeling, about 6 miles away.

The road to the park seemed to drop straight down and was badly in need of repairs - it's a rough ride, although the views were magnificent. If you don't care for heights, don't go there. The edges of the road are only marked with small rocks, if at all.

For those who enjoy strolling in high places along worn stone pathways amidst breathtaking natural beauty with icy waters flowing and splashing all around, this is the place. Small bridges zig-zag here and there as they cross over the streams. I'm still undecided, though, if the rough ride to get there was worth it.

The paths meander up, down and over picturesque narrow bridges. There are benches where you can pause and catch your breath and take in the views. I live in California and was familiar with all the beautiful flowers and ferns. Although nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, the growing area is very tropical - you'll see roses, wisteria, fuschias, lilies and so many other colorful flowers.
