Must stop by Kunga for a meal, the MOMO's were outstanding as well as the rest of their food. It is almost like having a home cooked meal.

Come here for the momos and Thenthuk (flat noodle soup). Also try the Tibetan Tea if you haven't tried it before!

I must stop giving 5 stars in Darjeeling. To be honest we have been told of all the best places and this is definitely one. Brekkus at 8, fresh lemon juice and vest meusli ever, yoghurt apple I think, banana, crunchy base fantastic. Thought I would have something else but couldnt manage it. All fellow volunteers had same and total acclamation from all.
Some may prefer to use toilet in hotel as close/in kitchen.

KUNGA ---I tried the Momos, the Pork Bhakthuk/Thenthuk(Tibetan Noodle Soup), Chicken phing,Tibetan tea(not meant for those who like regular tea), Tibetan bread with butter, Museli Ricer.
Everythng was utterly delicious....I met Patricia from Philadelphia here.Hey pat gimme a call once you start working with the Missonaries of Charity. — at KUNGA---- Chinese and Tibetan Restuarant.

"Thenthuk" (pronounced roughly like "ten" + "took") is a typical Tibetan noodle soup that keeps the nomads warm during the long Tibetan winters. You can make it either with vegetables or meat. In Tibetan "then" means pull and "thuk" means noodles.
The warm Thengtuk...
A very hearty, warming recipe. Good for those cold nights on the high plateau... — at KUNGA.

Mr Dorjee was good enough to teach me prepare it ...Thank you Sir.
