“Best Choupsey ever”
Reviewed April 22, 2014 via mobile

Had Veg Choupsey and Mushroom soup at Glenary's. Highly recommended to one and all. Its the best choupsey ever tasted. Their bakery is also one of the best in town.

“Nothing good except the ambience”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

There is a bakery on ground floor and a restaurant situated above it. Theres also a pub in the basement. We went for dinner at the restaurant. The ambience is nice with a british era feel - white furniture and old pictures on the wall. Its located on Nehru road , walking distance from Chowrasta. On the right side the restaurant offer valley view and on the left it overlooks the main street. The service was average - it was a bit difficult to get the attention of the waiter. The food was bad - we started with manchow soup, it was ok. For starters we ordered crispy veg potato - it was horrible - completely bland and in an off-putting orange colour. For main course we ordered tandoori roti and dal makhani. Dal had no taste at all. We wouldn't want to visit this place again.

“Best Bakery in Darjeeling”
Reviewed April 19, 2014

Having so many variety of cakes, pastries, Doughnuts, rolls etc. We almost tasted most of the things and found very tasty. The only thing that they have to improve is the service quality and timings to deliver the product.

Thank you for reviewing us on trip advisor. We are glad that you have enjoyed our products. Yes it does get pretty busy during season time which is from April to mid June and October November and of course during festivals but we thank you for your patience.

“awesome bakery with a good restaurant...”
Reviewed April 18, 2014

Glenary"s is one of the best thing in Darjeeling... It offers a great bakery with excellent pasties, patties, cakes, biscuts which is situated in ground floor of the building and the restaurant is situated just above it.. The restaurant offers a variety of menus (mainly continental) and the food served was really yummy... We tasted noodles, chicken manchurian and some sandwiches all of which tastes really good... Best among the bakery items is the sweet biscut which is a must try for all people visiting Darjeeling... It is situated very near to mall but the bakery section closes after 7:30 pm... If u want to have dinner, make sure that u reach the place before 7pm as after that it will be tough for u ti get a table...

Thank you for writing a review on us.We are glad that you got the feeling of the old world charm which is what Glenary's is all about since its conception dating back to 1915 when it was known as Pliva's. We have tried to keep it that way with a few modern twist to its menu . After you feedback we have looked into our tandoori menu and we hope the next time you get a chance to visit us you will surely enjoy your meal.

“a lovely way to start your mornings, noon or night..”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

I had stayed in Darjeeling for a large number of my childhood days studying in the most elite of boarding schools in Asia probably and whenever we would get to go to town we would run to Glens(as its lovingly called) and get our hands at whatever we could afford with our paltry sums for pocket money..heheheh..
ever since I've been to Glens many times now and it still has its charm though most of Darjeeling has lost its....and the bakery and tea is still top notch..Even the food upstairs (continental and british dining) has still maintained its standard through the years.
One of the best places for both casual and upscale dining in Darjeeling.
