The best experience of any business lunch with your friend should happen with good food and beer with minimal intervention. Happen to take one of my foreign business friend who was looking for a good south indian veg food. This was a great place in the heart of the Chennai city. Definitely an expensive place but every penny spend was worth for the interior decor, choice of food, service quality, etc. They have some of the best rarest recipes of southern india covering all four states - Karnataka, Andhra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Quantities of served portion are very large. So be careful when ordering as we ended with lot of food that we were not able to finish in spite of being good.
Don't miss this place if you want the best local food and don't mind the cost!

We have visited this place for a dinner on Feb 13th to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Firstly, this restaurant is located in Taj Coromandel, which is one of the best luxury properties of TAJ group in India that is the main landmark for many celebrities and VVIPs.

The welcome at the restaurant was warm and traditional. The staff attired in traditional south indian style.

At first, they offered complimentary mini idls with some chutneys pasted onto it, that was good.

we have had Rasam and Beg platter as starter that gave a good start. We tasted chettinad veg biryani and curry leaves rice and Appam with veg kuzhambu in main course. The taste was awesome and service was best. We ended the dinner with a dessert, coconut pasyasm (first line in desserts menu) which was absolutely stunning and gave perfect ending.

Ambiance inside the restaurant was excellent and they have celebrated our wedding anniversary with a complimentary cake cutting, by offering traditional tikka by a beautiful golden dragon staff.

The experience in total was excellent and its really value for money.

The restaurant is dark and gloomy and was quite empty on the day we went for lunch. The food was very, very average. Did not expect that in a Taj speciality restaurant. Very disappointed. Will not go back. The same restaurant in its previous avatar was so much better.

Magnificent food showcasing authentic dishes from the southern states of India. The staff is attentive and helpful. The chefs are happy to temper the spices you suit your palate. A wonderful dining experience. Love going back for more.
