The food is great, as usual. The staff need lot of coaching. They neither understand English nor Tamil, which makes communication very difficult. They roll out template based sentences, with no understanding of what they are saying and hence no emotions - they could deliver a congratulatory message and a death notice with the same smiling face! The waiter spoke about Talwar Kabab, didn't get one. I then had to ask for it, as I had already prepared my guests for it.

The review is for Kabab factory at Radisson GRT near Chennai airport and not the others.

At Rs1600/- per head including taxes for the Kabab buffet, they have 11 varieties of Kabab - 6 non veg and 5 veg, a main course which is a chicken biriyani or Indian bread with daal and finally kulfi and couple of dessert options. Sounds like a lot? No. I will come to that.
The hotel is good, the service is excellent, the waiter explains what Kabab you are having and what chutney to choose. So, here we go:

1. Choice - With 6 non veg and 5 veg and that includes a fish and a prawn, the choice of Kababs is good. The veg included paneer, sheekh and fruit and non veg includes prawn, fish, 2 chicken and a mutton. Very interesting..
2. Spices - Missing. Mostly very bland Kababs
3. The rest of the flavors - What flavors? I dint find any.
4. Main course - That is where the completely lost. Just 2 - Indian bread and biriyani. Choice breads had daal fry and daal makhani to go with it, both of which were tasteless and had too much salt. The chicken biriyani was uneatable with just one spice taste (I guess turmeric) standing out. This was bad biriyani at its best
5. Desserts - A small kulfi and 4 desserts which included bread in rasamalai, something done to semiya and 2 dishes I was unable to identify. 2 of the 4 were good.

Was at the Kabab factory yesterday (09/11). The new one at the Raddison Blu Egmore. The Non veg buffet was priced at Rupees1553. Started with a salad and some strawberry sauce which was good. Then started the 6 kababs , the first one was their priced kabab with the 128 spices in it. Then 2 chicken one with and one without bone , a sheekh kabab , fish and shrimp / prawn accompanied with a coupe of breads. Then comes the lentils with all kind a small sized rotis/ nans etc. Then the biriyani and desserts which had Kulfi , Rabdi , some real good strawberry mousse and besan halwa. Every single dish was well prepared and adequately cooked with the right amount of spices. Btw - Beer goes really well with the kaba's.

As I was staying in the radisson GRT, this was the obvious place to eat, being situated just off the hotel lobby. The theme of the restaurant is a "food production line" but the food quality, taste and presentation did the restaurant more justice than the quirky theme.
The cutlery comes to you in a bag called "tool kit". The napkin is actually the top part of a boiler suit (minus the legs) which helps keep shirts and blouses free of food spills.
There are veggie and non-veggie alternatives and you can re-select some of your favourites, too, if you'd like.
On the down side (which didn't in any way spoil my enjoyment of the meal) the restaurant does not have a liquor license so any alcaholic drinks must be poured in the hotel bar and then brought through to your table. Also, the lighting was subdued to the point where you couldn't clearly see the food that was being put onto your plate.
However, those two negatives were tiny compared to the great tasting food and the friendly service (and the beer was perfect with the several curry courses on the menu!).
