“Authentic Thai Food”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Very nice ambiance, amazing authentic thai food and great hospitality. We went there for our first wedding anniversary and it was worth a visit. The Thai Red Curry was amazing and found my wife's favorite "The Fried Ice Cream"!

The place is very nominal for the quality of food you get.

Will go there again.

“On the fence...”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

After nine months in Chennai we finally tried Benjarong for lunch. We shared two appetizers and can report the prawn appetizer (one of several on the menu) was very good but the spring rolls very average and bland. Likewise we had soup and it was very average. We had two very different prawn selections for the main course and both were quite nice as was the rice we ordered to accompany them. But in the end it was nothing great in total and actually quite pricey when all was said and done. So nothing to complain about (the service was very good) but nothing to rave about either.

“Excellent green curry”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

I visited Benjarong about 5 or 6 times and have never been disappointed.
You get nice lemon grass tea and starter plate complimentary.
Their green curry is excellent. Note that it serves 2.
Tom Yum soup is very good too. Pad thai is decent.
I really recommend this place.

“Superb food...Good value”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

We visited Teppan for a family lunch and what a terrific experience it was! First off, we asked to be seated at the Teppanyaki grill and that gave us an opportunity to watch the chef in action at close quarters...well he missed a couple of juggling acts with the salt shaker, but more than made up for it by cracking eggs on a blade and drawing a wafer-thin omelette in the shape of a large heart!

Our 15-year old opted for the Combination Menu: Tori Salad, Tuna Nigiri, Miso with chicken, Chicken leg meat, Grilled Prawns and a Chicken fried rice...the portions of rice and meat were very generous and tested the appetite of a teenager, so there was enough for the grown-ups to dip into as well... we ordered yaki-tori skewers and seared tuna fish (both were excellent) and the stir fried green vegetables which was very well made...

The finale was the choice of 5 desserts that come with the Combination Menu...the caramel tart, apple crumble and chocolate (something like a lava cake) were to die for. All in, the meal cost Rs.3,400 for 3 adults, which is not bad considering the speciality cuisine.

While I must admit that I did go in with a bit of apprehension as to what to expect, I will happily say that Teppan was a delightful foodie trip!!

“It's an authentic Thai restaurant with excellent service”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

I visited the restaurant with my some Vietnamese biz men. The food was excellent good location. The waiters were really awesome as the serving every one with a warm smile and they were all very service minded people. The food was tastier but the service made it more tastier. The manager / captain was very courteous and was giving good advice what is beast with what. It was a wonderful experience. Though I am a permanent resident of Chennai I did not know how I missed this joint.
