Yesterday happened to be the Crown restaurant of Residency towers at T Nagar, Chennai. It is roof top with 270 degree view of Chennai. Immediately next to a water body. Cool breeze through out the evening, wooden floor and wrought iron furniture gives a very good ambiance. Food is not very costly. Even though menu is limited, but good stuff. Very nice staff.

If you are looking for quiet evening without much intrusion with family or friends, this is a place and also very pocket friendly.

With most international flights arriving in the wee hours of the morning, the 24 hr check in/out usually saves you a day! Service is good, Very close to T.Nagar shopping, Airport pick up / drop off (for a fee) is good, Breakfast / Restaurants are good, Internet connection in the room is helpful, Business Centre is useful. To sum it up, good value for money.

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of this hotel. Contrary to some of the other reviewers, I found this property to have good amenities, comfortable bed and room, ambience and decor, and all the facilities one would want or need in a city as big as Chennai. But it was the soft assets that made this property the best--the people were gracious, kind, helpful and overly willing to help at every instant. I wanted to locate old friends who lived in an area I remembered from a long time ago, and the front desk and bell cap staff searched on the computer, digging up the correct phone numbers for me...when I was seeking transportation to the airport in the wee hours, they searched up and down the streets to find a taxi (I hadn't booked on earlier), hauling my heavy bags...and negotiating a good price as well!. The cleaning staff was thorough, the management checked on my stay, all of this while a wedding was going on and they had plenty of other busy things to attend to. The restaurants were of different ambience each, the food authentic, (as well as western options available). I have ample experience traveling in Asia, and India in particular, and for the price of this hotel this is a fantastic value. I would seriously doubt that paying twice as much for a higher "class"hotel would add much ROI.
Highly recommend this for individuals or families visiting Chennai as it is centrally located, easy access to most areas and the airport without much hassle.

Room Tip: Ask for something in the higher floors (above 10th), quieter section. Book your airport taxi with pr...

I was there for a week, 3 days for business and 4 days for holidays and i will always say one of the best hotels in India i have been, Hospitality is fantastic, the staff are always cordial and always wish you and ready to help. Well i had to print my e ticket and i had my pendrive, i thought where should i get it done, They have a second floor for business deals, i think many companies come in there to conduct exams and interviews. The third floor is for entertainment , spa is there and the swimmming pool is really well kept and hygienic all over.
The room is good with all channels for a foreigner like me, who likes sports channels, worth it. The Ac works nicely, no real problem encountered, Just on fridays , i think there is a discotheque but not really troublesome. There is a good taxi service and most of the staff there know english and they manage quite well
The food is great, the buffet breakfast is really interesting, just at night the buffet dinner one is packed with local people who come in groups and do make some noise , but i guess it was deepavali time,so there are gatherings,
For a 3 day stay, would be the best, staying one week, you tend to get bored with the same menu they give daily, but really worthy hotel. cheers , if i am going back to chennai, i would go back there anytime,,,

Room Tip: floor 15 is good one

No, this hotel isn't terrible. But it could be comparable to an ISTA or ITC and yet it is as if a great hotel was allowed to be run down for decades and wallow in mediocrity.

Odd smells. Poorly maintained rooms. Dripping sinks, fittings that are loose. Paint peeling. phones not working.

Mediocre service. And the food. Well, the restaurant upstairs looked like a true palace....left to run down. Waitstaff with little training---at least they swoop in and grab your plate when you are done. Don't order any beef dish. Stick with Indian food. Even then we have half out plate served colder than room temperature (and trust me, grilled broccoli and cauliflower aren't meant to be served cold). The buffet is fair.

Seriously, this hotel's location and price are good. The overall facility is fine. It just needs maintenance and improved management.

i just checked out yesterday morning, but cant get this hotel out of mind. It was a short stay of 2 nights with my family & i was really worried about which hotel to stay in. my friend suggested Residency Towers and i went with his recommendation, without even checking the reviews online. So, lemee tell you - it is a fantastic place to stay. i dont know where to start but i want to highlight the hospitality, behaviour & willingness of the staff to help you out of the way. in my 15 years professional life, i stayed in many star rated hotels in many countries, but this hotel i personally rate "the best". i will definitely visit chennai again, just to stay in this hotel. Food was awesome ( i am south indian, i didnt taste any western menu), pub was excellent, buffet menu was awesome in the " main street". i hope you had a beach resorts, so that next time i can plan my indian vacation...:)

Room Tip: select a room away from the pub, as it can be noisy @ night, especially weekends. select a bigger ro...

This hotel was refered to me by a freind, and stayed for first time. I wanted same room for family of four, they easily accomodated with providing CLUB SUIT at reasonable price. Our stay was real good and was able to do most of shopping and temple visits easily from here as it is centrally located. Staff are very freindly, cooperative and have nice transport with well maintained cars. Another important aspect is airport pickup and drop, which business travellers always look for. Restaurants and south Indian food is excellent and there are several outlets nearby too. We all enjoyed our stay in Chennai .

Room Tip: since its in the center of city, bit noisy, can choose right room in the far end of hotel
