Flying Elephant feels like a real innovation and I loved it!
It starts with the visual engagement of multi level dining with all levels visible from the elegant central atrium. Each level has a range of different seating and eating options from formal, private room dining through to bar stools at high tables for snacking and comfortable sofa styles for more casual eating.
At Sunday brunch, exploring the five different open cooking stations was a feast for the senses before we even started eating. The cooks were happy to talk about what they were doing and really brought the food to life. And when we did start eating it was with the help of excellent waiters who were more than happy to customise each dish and deliver it fresh and piping hot to the table.
Don't miss the satay - prawn, chicken and lamb - a signature of the restaurant. But equally good were Eggs Royale, a thin and crispy based pizza with chicken, fontina and chilli, grilled Basa and rib eye and a refreshing plate of rock melon, prosciutto and manchego. After all of this, dessert was a total indulgence but of course we did indulge - the array is just too tempting. I can personally recommend the vanilla macaroons.
The Sunday brunch is excellent value - the menu is not as extensive as other times in the week but the choice is more than enough. . Wine choices are good and we enjoyed a perfectly presented chardonnay. Just right for Sunday brunch.
A fresh, exciting experience.
