“Arguably the best Chennai has to offer!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 10, 2013 via mobile

We didn't manage to get enough in one nights dinner so we went back for dessert the second night. The team is young and vibrant. Try the signature chocolate cake or the baked Alaska.... Absolutely killer stuff.
My only suggestion, they should check with the customers at the time of bill settlement if we are Hyatt gold passport members.

“good food, ok ambience and service, premium price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 8, 2013

tried the much hyped about restaurant recently and the food did match our expectations. the non veg tasting menu offers a good overview of the the variety their chefs can offer, and is worth a try if one has a taste for global cuisine.the indian menu is very limited.there are no buffet options, only a la carte.
the ambience was ok, but definitely not as exceptional as the administration seemed to claim. service was fine. slightly costlier than other 5* restaurants in town (~3-4k for two).
A small inconvience we faced was the lack of baby cot/cradle for our young one.

Thank you for your comments posted on #TripAdvisor.

We infer that your experience was a mediocre at The Flying Elephant. The tasting menus are designed to give the guest a taste of global food. The restaurant is not doing any buffet style as the concept is totally different where we bring every food from every level to your table. For the little ones we have small baby chairs designed which have been included for the kids comfort.

The menus will be revised periodically and we will keep in view of including some more options in the Indian section.

We appreciate your taking the time to share your comments online. We look forward to welcome you back to The Flying Elephant very soon

“A Food Court like ambience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

This happens to be the new "to be seen at" place in Chennai. It has a great energy about it and is really happening.
The food was generally very good with the exception of Portabello Mushrooms which were very mediocre and highly priced. The accoustics are bad and it is exhausting to dine there. One needs to speak at a high pitch even to be heard by the person sitting next to you. Not a place where you can relax and enjoy an intimate evening. The restaurant also has a problem with its Kitchen Exhaust, so if you are a vegetarian you would do well to take a table at the ground floor.
Overall this place is highly priced.

Thank you for your comments posted on #TripAdvisor.

From your feedback we believe that your experience was a mix at The Flying Elephant. Yes the concept is certainely very new and different however differs from a typical food court because of its ambience, theatrical aspect and service design.

We appreciate your feedback for the food which gives up the oppourtunity to improvise further. The acoustic generally are higher on the Club@The Flying Elephant nights. However we will certaily revisit the entire accoustics of the various locations based on your feedback.

We appreciate your taking the time to share your comments online. We hope to welcome you back to The Flying Elephant very soon
