“Truly a Grand Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

I booked a table for our anniversary on the 17th of this month.I must say reading a few reviews online about "understaffed service" etc,I was skeptical. But from the time I booked a table in the afternoon for dinner and the entire dinner experience itself was awesome. The kind lady Kushboo who took the order on phone was courteous and helpful in explaining the details.Once we entered the Hotel, the grandeur of the place is amazing, all the staff were very courteous. We got a good location and were able to converse and continue having a good time without being interrupted. All this was possible by our server Vinoth who was extremely professional and courteous. He kept bringing our starters at the right time and did his duties fast and in a stealth mode making sure the table was not empty at the same time giving us the space needed. The food was awesome with variety interspersed all around. The tall ceiling, ambient lighting and delicious food supplemented by courteous helpful staff made it a very satisfying experience. As mentioned by others the desert counter is to die for. I was lost for choices to have. The highlight was the special cake wishing us for our anniversary which was delicious. At no point was there a feeling that they were trying to hurry to push us out or finish fast we did lounge leisurely letting the deserts sink in before exiting out.Overall I give a huge thumbs up for the privacy, quality, service & ambience provided.I hope to keep visiting to try out the other restaurants at this place.

“Ambience - Great; Quality/Service - Pathetic”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2013

With great expectations, went with family for lunch on a saturday. The kids were so excited indeed to see the grandiose and the magnificent facades....settled into a comfortable table and there ends all the excitement. Shocked to find that both vegetarian and nonvegetarian dishes were kept alternatively. Hardly 3 vegetarian sabzi dishes were there....taste was too pathetic except for the starters ....

While we were already sulking, at 2.30pm, the lady usher comes and gives a stern warning "Please wind up. We are going to close". I was shocked with no words to express back. What etiquette is this? Have these guys come from Mars? Have they never worked in a high end restaurant before? Even giving the benefit of doubt, a normal person could have seen that we are already on our dessert warranting no such dictat. In other civilized places, i have seen that personnel restrict only the arriving new guests and never bother on the ones who are already in. Nevertheless it was a solid 15mins left (2.45pm is supposed to be the closing time) even if strict timing is enforced. Just as i was dumbfounded on the rashness and uncivilized service levels, saw more than a handful of hotel/restaurant personnel with ITC chola badges (in suits), walking, filling and eating as if the restaurant for guests had closed. To top it all, there were still many guests in many tables and i could see scant sense of shame on these personnel just as the usher was going table after table ordering each to stop eating and walk out right away.

To top it all, the big group that had occupied our nearby table was having a major contention on some billing issue and the service guy hardly seemed to care to answer him and i could see the entire group getting fumed.

All in all - it is no doubt a new restaurant but the service personnel also seems to be new - not to the restaurant but to the field of restaurant industry itself. They had complete lack of etiquette, basic manners, ability or interest to engage with their guests while the rudeness and i-care-not-a-penny attitude well spread everywhere.

Neither the food was tasty nor the service of the people commendable....

Old is gold. The residency of Park Sheraton is way up in the ladder and it could serve well if the Madras Pavilion personnel take training at Park Sheraton at the minimum....
