“An ancient Shiva temple with a huge water tank”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

A very old locality of Madras / Chennai where the famous Kapaleeswara / Karpagambal temple with a huge water tank. Many small temples are located around the main temple. It is a very old locality of Madras mostly inhabited by Brahmins. Still you can see many typical brahmin houses around the temple with the entrances decorated by Kolam (Rangoli). Most people still visit the temple every day early in the morning.
In Mylapore you will find various old and new business establishments like Leo coffee, Rangachary Cloth store, RASI Silks, Nalli, Sangeetha and Saravana Bhavan Restaurant, Giri Brothers (Religious items), Rex Fashion and many Jewellers. Santhome church is also located in Mylapore. Many famous hospitals can also be found.
Every year Mylapore festival is celebrated to keep our tradition alive.
