Valluvar kottam is a monument built in remembrance of the poet-saint Tiruvalluvar. It is beautiful, attractive and well worth a visit.

“Passport your time in the city center”
Reviewed January 20, 2013 via mobile

Constant offerings of exhibition and ample parking make this government extravaganza worth a visit. It is easy to access and give cool rest for a hot visitor. No major traditional value, yet offers one of beauty in rock works in Tiruvalluvar chariot. Ride the elephants when you are there and fun walking around.

“Monument gone to seed”

Central location. Mostly used for government functions and craft melas. Very badly maintained. Stinking toilets. The place will fall apart soon.

“Can be made a better tourist attraction”
Reviewed May 10, 2012

This monolithic structure built in honour of the great tamil poet tiruvalluvar situated in the heart of chennai cries for more attention than what it is getting now.The monolithic wheels of the chariot are a marvel to watch and ghe central hall has the 1330 verses engraved all around the pillar like structure in the first floor. The stairways leadingto the first floor and thence to the roof needs to have supports for the elderly and they are not disabled friendly. The rooftop is an excellent place to spend an evening which is well evident by the number of couples who are present there. The hall is usually used for conducting one exhibition or the other. This attraction also lacks proper restroom facility and refreshments.so one cannot spend more time here.Steps if taken towards improving the sanitation, food and safety features can make this a far better tourist attraction.
