We were very happy staying at this hotel even though all the facilities were not up and running since it had just opened up. Rooms were spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff and the front desk people were responsive and very courteous. Food was good all through. Waiting for it to open up fully.!

We had the pleasure of hosting a family function at the Hyatt Regency, We went there coz of the brand, sadly they couldn't live up to it….. Being a World renowned chain and with lots of laurels our first choice was Hyatt irrespective of mixed opinions on the food and service from my business circle and friends

While there were a lot of positive experiences from the Hotel, the attitude of most of the staff left us wondering if we were at a five star hotel!!!

 Banquet booking was very cordial till we paid the advance.
 The banquet venue was great
 Chefs were very cordial, interaction with Chef Gopi & Chef Thomas was Excellent.
 Guest check -in was seamless and so was the room ambiance

SADLY

 Air-con at the Hall was pathetic, all guests were sweating it out
 Broken equipment in the wash rooms, they did not have paper towel. Only toilet roll available. Nothing to dry your hands either electronic or manual. They lost it on Hygiene???
 No one was in-charge….They refused to add additional chairs for added guests in hall. There was one hard working soul. We did not get timely help even after repeated requests here.

While we can live with all above challenges from a newly opened Hotel we could not accept insults to the extent of disrespect from the Finance/billing Team when asked about a wrong billing. Sequences of financial chaos delivered to us from one of the Billing boys who continuously repeated that “he is only doing what he has been asked to do” only showed that the Brand HYATT was only on the name board, definitely not in terms of the service.

The team who handled our billing process did not know what hospitality was and the treatment they gave us cannot be compared to even a smallest non hospitality business. Courtesy, Respect, Flexibility, Adaptability and Make my Guest Feel Important did not exist.
The Staff (not all) did what was convenient for them and not was convenient to the guest who takes care of their pay check.

Never Think Of Hosting Any Event at THE HYATT REGENCY, Chennai

This hotel just officially opened on August 8th/9th, and I highly recommend it. There are a couple little kinks they could work on being new and all, which included the alarm clock not being set to working stations, one staff not knowing where the gym was, room light switches were not incredibly intuitive, the gym and public bathrooms were HOT due to huge windows, and worst of all check-in and check-out were painfully slow. However, this pales in comparison to the outstanding service, brand new hotel feeling, the uniquely beautiful room layouts, and very well maintained facilities (e.g. gym, restaurant buffet, check-in, etc). Public and personal rooms have floor to ceiling windows, and you stare at beautiful greenery surrounding the hotel (beyond that, the view is not very appealing). One manager, Soma, definitely had her priority on service. I saw her almost every time I went by the front desk, and she was constantly making sure everything was okay (in a genuine, not annoying way). Excellent service seems to be consistent in India, but this staff went above and beyond.

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner at the Hyatt - before any of its facilities was open! So it was just me, my hubby, the skeletal hotel staff and a few banquet guests ensconced in some boardroom far away.
Needless to say, I was floored by their easy hospitality and willingness to help make this evening - our anniversary - a special one. Next: they had prepared a super Indian menu and we stuffed ourselves until we were blue. Great service, a friendly, easy-going atmosphere and yet, in all this, the feeling of FIVE STAR and exclusivity was still rock-solid.
The hotel itself is gorgeous. Modern without being stark, artistic without being vague. The beehives are a thing to see! The atrium is beautiful and the lobby lounge - on the 4th floor, not the customary ground floor - is warm and inviting, spacious and airy.

I don't know how the hotel will do or how its staff will treat customers once it's fully open, but if our dinner is anything to go by, this is a place I will visit often! Chennai needs this touch of international class!
