I was really looking forward to staying at the Raintree having stayed at the original some years back on business trips, this being a holiday. It started badly with our car not collecting us, but we made our way to the hotel and expressing my frustration, we were upgraded. The room was fantastic, everything you'd expect from the Raintree. The thumping disco directly overhead however, was not. Despite exhaustion and earplugs we just couldn't get to sleep the noise was to overwhelming. We were told it would stop at 11:30 so I headed back down to reception at 11:45 in my pyjamas to plead for some sleep. The manager intervened and eventually at around 11:55 the noise stopped. This was a Thursday night.
We were moved the next day, back to the original class of room we booked, which was still comfortable, clean and well appointed, enjoyed the room-service dining (breakfast by the way is fantastic!) and also slept like teenagers. I would go back again but definitely not within 4 floors of the disco area under our own steam.More
