This hotel is an embodiment of a misunderstanding. It reminds me places I stayed in in the Soviet Union when it still existed. Apparently it wasn't so bad for local standards, but I still wish I had made a different choice. On the upside, it was cheap. The rooms were not so bad but the bathrooms really gave me creeps and I have seen a lot in my life hotelwise :)

in a nutshell, everything about this hotel stinks. right from the rooms to the service to the food. absolutely a no no. this is from a very experienced traveller. you will be better off having your meals in a sub standard restaurant than this hotel. no proper room service. no cleaning tables after meals. room service says its the duty of the housekeeping. you have three meals in a day and the table will be cleaned once the next day by housekeeping. be prepared for the most horrible view from the room. their general excuse is that the hotel is fully booked. take what we have. but what if you have already booked through a travel agency?

Room Tip: nothing is good

I booked two rooms for 3 days at the Hotel through a web portal. That was the first step towards a disastrous holiday. They assumed that since the rooms were already paid for they could treat you like dirt. They gave us rooms with no view almost near the closets - They said all the rooms were full. It took us a few hours to realise that none were booked. Next they did not provide the services mentioned in the portal. The AC would not work - They would neither move us to another room nor send someone to get it repaired. No one ever bothered to respond to Room Service calls. No one cleaned up the rooms, no one brought water. Finally when we complained to the Desk, the Manager was point blank rude. We walked out of the Hotel even though the rooms were paid for and complained to the web portal. They investigated and got us a refund. Take our advice - Avoid this Hotel by a mile.

Room Tip: Avoid the Hotel

This hotel is very close to the famous marina Beach and also some very important temples located in Chennai such as Parthsarthi Temple and Kapalesswarar Temple. ooms are not very Large, but are neat and clean. staff is courteous, Room service is average but north indian food is available and is good to taste as well. People speaking english is an advantage. It is priced slightly on the higher side, but that is primarily due to its location as it is bang opposite the upcoming new secretariat. overall, value for money.

stayed at the hotel for a night and would neither recommend it nor say dont go at all. the rooms are decent but the food smell was there when we entered the room. the person at the reception was quite ineffective and the breakfast in the morning is ok and not great. the plus is it is just off mount road and is on the main road. the wi-fi does not work as well.

Cheap but not so good.

Location: Very accessible and well placed.
Room: Rooms are good and comfortable but linen used was bad quality. Whole in bed sheet and blood stains. Had to ask for replacement and replaced linen was also not good.
Food: Hotel serves good breakfast and other meal options. Prices are also reasonable.

Bottom line: Good for business travelers for overnight stay.

Room Tip: There is Thai Spa at the hotel.
