I had Dosa & Idli and got them packed for team break fast. It was all refreshing after a whole night shift.

You possibly get the best of 'Idli' with wide variety of chutneys and sambar. Great taste and the ambience is hygenic. The dosa variety too makes a compelling story to visit. One of the best places to visit for Tiffin varities. Value for money as well

I think it is by far the better place for lunch in the area ,next to the Elliots Beach.. Though not so so detailed it is just sufficient with basic items and can be preferred for speed of service .No surprise items but their Sambhar was good. Rasam was too watery .Curries were good to taste but quantity is insufficient. Mostly you see servers of NE origin who go about their job neatly. Not very much crowded unlike their outlet at South Usman Road, is a good place for Madrasi lunch. However, if you go little late for lunch say after 1.30 pm, you may miss some items like papad, salad etc.

Having lived in Chennai and very close to the Murugan Idli Shop in Besant Nagar I have lost the count of times I have been to this place. Recently went to chennai for a visit (I live in Bangalore now) and went to this place. And I was not disappointed the taste of food is the same as it was before.
The idli's are so soft and they just melt in your mouth. I am a great fan of the sambhar and the coconut chutney here. Both normal pongal and sweet pongal here are a must try.

Note : 1) The place is amazingly crowded on weekend morning time. 2) Either take your own water or buy a mineral water bottle to drink. 3) Not a very clean place so people who are a little upset with such places please don't try this place.
