They prepared very good Maki Rolls, but cant say the same to Nigiri. need more expertise. Shrimp Tempura is good. Teppanyaki style cooking display by chef is good and food tasted good. They should add bean sprouts in the veggie grill. Overall a new experience.

Teppan Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar takes all its guests to a mini tour to Japan through their authentic Japanese Cuisine.

The word 'Teppan' came from the metal(iron) griddle used in the 'Teppanyaki Style' of Japanese Cuisine. In this style of cooking, the chef plays with cutlery in the live & open kitchen & prepares pan-fried or grilled items for the guests as per their requests. This style of cooking became famous after World War II.

The restaurant is located at Alwarpet, Central Chennai & on the first floor of the building. This fine dining restaurant offers a soothing ambience with melodious Japanese music!!!

Starting with healthy salad Tori Satori Sarada, Soup - Miso, crispy Pop ebi crunch Tempura, Maguro tataki, Sashimi platter of Ika (Cuttle fish), Maguro (Tuna), Suzuki (Sea Bass), Shake (Salmon), Tako(Octopus), Nigiri of various types such as Ebi, Maguro, Shake, Hamachi, in Hoso Maki such as Karai maguro maki, Shake maki, Ura Ami - Californian Maki, Dragon Maki, Variety of Sashimi, Rice -Tamago yakimeshi, Noodles - Yaki soba, Agemono - Tori kara age & at the end various desserts are also there to finish your meal with a sweet note!!

The restaurant is around 9 years old & has been serving scrumptious Japanese Delicacies till date. The uniqueness of the restaurant lies with the live show of Teppanyaki by the chef at the live counter where the guests can sit surrounding the iron griddle & experience live cooking.

Teppan Japanese Grill and Sushi Bar has awarded with many rewards over the years for their hospitality & serving authentic Japanese meal to its customers.

I had high expectations of Teppan based on the reviews but the food was disappointing. In the vegetarian set menu all the dishes came out tasting the same - they were really salty so maybe adapted to local taste or something? Staff were good but at 1,500 for just one person (after tax and service were added) this place is really not worth the money.

This place is situated on top of Benjarong and you have to enter through Benjarong. Valet parking is available, hence need not worry about parking. The ambience is no different from Benjarong except for the Teppanyaki. The menu is simple but quite varied. Choose the premium sea food combo (though they did not have salmon that night). The chef was very nice and jovial and he does put a nice show. It’s a joy watching him prepare the main dishes live in front of you. Their salads were very fresh and appetisers were also good. The let down was the dessert, it was too ordinary and didn’t live up to the standards of the other parts of dinner. Quite pricy but worth it...~₹1500-2000/- per person. No alcohol served. Service was good.
