Cascade is one of the old chinese restaurants which has mamaged to keep its quality. The food and the service is very good but not signature. The price will keep you smiling and the quantity is hearty. Way to go Cascade! keep feeding us and make us smile.

“For a good meal with family”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2012

Great ambience, good service, t small play area on t roof top was very nice and my 2 yo daughter enjoyed it. T restaurant wasn't crowded for a Sunday evening but we were early diners being around 7pm which is very early for chennaiites. T food was tasty & I felt that they had not added any msg. Also it wasn't floating in oil and we actually didn't feel bloated post. T portions were quite generous and t pricing modest. Recommendable if you are looking for a quiet place to dine with family & have some good Indian Chinese that is soft & safe on your bowels.

“Best in its category”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012 via mobile

I've been a regular to cascade in besant nagar. the food is very good with authentic flavours. One portion of soup can easily serve 3. Try out "tom yum ja" in soups, sparkling spinach, dimsum basket for starters. Yu mein noodles for main course and yes sizzling brownie for dessert. All these are too good and we stick to the samw that we hardly explored the other dishes

“An Old favourite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2012

Cascade is one of the restaurants associated with the evolution of Chinese food in Chennai. Started way back in 1987-88 this restaurant in many ways changed the way people perceived Chinese food. Today, in a more swanky avatar, Cascade has its staunch loyalists and its not too surprising as to why. For one, it offer good value for Money in the form of huge portions. The food is designed for Indian tasting Chinese food lovers and the service is decent.

What can you try? Well for starters the Veg fried Wontons and the Jade Spinach soup are winners all the way...theyve obviously revamped the menu recently and added some more interesting stuff which I will try and update when I can. Cascade is also famous for its Golden Baskets.

In the main course a unique dish in the noodle basket is the Yue Mein Noodles...Fried Noodles tossed with vegetables...absolutely yummy stuff. As is the Szechwan Fried Rice which though spicy is very well flavoured. In the side dishes Ive great great things about Volcano Chicken however my favourite is the 8 treasure Hotpot and the Eggplant Chilli bean.

Not much to write home about in the desserts section.

All in all, if you are more than one person going to Cascade youll have tremendous value for money. If you are alone, youll probably have enough food to pack for another full meal.

“You can eat real "Chinese food" here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2012

This restaurant is located on the prime street of Besant nagar, where you find a lot of dining outlets with a sign board "Chinese Restaurant" which is a definite lie.

Cascade is one of the few places in Chennai, where you can have a real Chinese food. The portion size is too huge. If you order 1 portion of Fried rice, that's good enough for 2 people. The Chicken lollipop and the "Grilled breast of chicken in Olive oil" was simply superb. One of the great dishes I've ever had. You may have to wait around 20 mins to get your food on the table as all dishes are been freshly prepared.

The ambiance of the restaurant is good for families and couples. Even though its a bit expensive, you'll feel the worth for the money paid.
