Good for: Families with children
Dining options: Breakfast, Late Night, Lunch, Reservations
Description: Six-O-One, the all-hours restaurant is our tribute to the historic location that housed the Gemini Film Studios. Smoky aromas from the tandoor and the wood-fired pizza oven waft into the air and stimulate the palate. Authentic Italian and International classics are highlights of the menu. Indian cuisine from Lucknow to Kerala is presented with innovative styling. In the Pasta Bar fresh pastas and noodles are tossed to your liking and sinful chocolates and desserts act the perfect temptress. In a complete contrast to the virginal white lobby, stands The Leather Bar. Sexy. Masculine. Dark. The rich black leather floor blends into olive suede walls. The space pays tribute to Chennai, the city of leather, accessorised by glamorous artefacts and books on leather and fashion. The DJ in the private console overlooks the lobby and interweaves sound and images to create the right energy. In fine weather an outdoor terrace enables you to enjoy the dark night, inhaling the heady smell of the sea.

We were staying at The Park during a recent visit and hence chanced upon this restaurant for a dinner and buffet breakfast.

I am unsure why people rave about the restaurant so much coz i believe they need to go under renovation asap. The service is top notch but would soon crumple under the debris of fading glory.

This is the best food i ever had in an Indian restaurant whether it be in quality, taste, variety, service, inter-continental, Value and whether it is breakfast or Lunch or Dinner. My taste buds are still asking me to go back to this restaurant again and again. I can not count the number of items. varieties of veg.salads. fruit salads, meat items, sea food, fruit juices, deserts all made with great quality. it is buffet Lunch or dinner and also the Complimentary breakfast. My wife who normally will not comment so easily about the quality of food, was so overwhelmed by the restaurant commented very generously that it is the best restaurant we had ever dined. We have a plan to take our friends there soon.

'Aqua' is located at the 8th floor of the Park Hotel with stylish cabanas around to relax after your swimming session. Food is served but the service not as good as in the restaurant '601' or at the 'Leather bar' of the Hotel. The swimming pool is least crowded and that makes it all the more peaceful. There is a good view of the city from there.

A rooftop restaurant has one distinct feature, allure. The altitude, away from the din of the city and the occasional views of the life beneath you, can give anyone a high. Well, aqua doesn't score too less on that.

Its a small but beautiful place with the pool in the centre enhancing the appeal many folds. I am not sure how the place looks in the daytime but during evenings, it springs to life. Being situated in the upscale The Park, it draws good crowd and you are unlikely to bump into unpleasant characters.

The seating is very relaxed and eclectic. They have an air-conditioned enclosure for those you prefer to sit indoors. However, the USP of this place is its outdoors and you must try that. They have some diwan-like couches that are darn spacious to seat upto 3 people. They also have the regular chair arrangements. Besides, you can take a private space at an elevated corner which is perfect for lovebirds with its flowing white curtains and invisible do-not-disturb tag :)

We had a prior reservation and upon arrival, were escorted to one of those diwan couches. We were already famished and hence, ordered food right away. A Desi Pasta and a Chicken R Fish Sizzler. We also ordered Marina No. 5 and Vodka to go along with it.

The food was pretty delicious. Well cooked, rightly spiced and piping hot! We devoured it happily under the starry skies. The drinks was pretty mind-blowing too! A version of Mojito, Marina No.5 did the trick.

The billing was hassle free and the environment, easy.

The only letdown was the service. They were painfully slow and made us wait for, what looked like ages, for just 2 dishes ordered simultaneously. Had it not been the lovely ambience and the company of my best friend, I might have lost my temper. But that didn't happen and the gorgeous food pretty much made for it :)

Recommended for Evening Dining with prior reservation. And yes, take along a dear one to beat the waiting blues! :D

Meal for 2 (with drinks): Veg (INR 3000), Non Veg (INR 3500)

We are senior citizen and vegetarian too! We went 601 coffee shop for our wedding anniversary dinner on a week day. The decor was good and the coffee shop was not crowded. We just placed a order for veg. Kebabs plate which costed about rs 1100 or so, but alas the kebabs were so so.it was not piping hot. The paneer, potato was very good but the cutlet was chewy and the veg were not crisp enough.
The kulfy did not have flavor though the service was good I expected better tasty food from Park.
