Owner description: Story-based walking tours and short excursions that zig-zag through the beat and the pulse of the city; from its oldest parts to its busy bazaars, through dance and art to its rural heart. Unlike sight-seeing tours, these trails focus on the everyday sights on the streets - the local customs, symbolisms and the fascinating stories behind the mundane rituals of life. Hosted by a team of articulate storytellers, these trails are an enjoyable way for visitors to appreciate the local way of life. Pick from nine different tours in Chennai.

I have lived here for many years ..........i have traveled and before the advent of the Internet it was a big thing to be at the spots of tourist interest to claim 'i have also been there'........it was a mute witness kind of experience.......and later with internet one could visit all these spots sitting at the desk............so in a way it got so boring to think of going all the way to just 'see'............

What made the difference here is the story teller ...........connects with our early childhood to listen to someone...........the personal style, the expression makes it a different kind of experience .................and the Peacock Trail brought out the place in a different hue and color............i call it the the 'nooks and corner' experience.....

Very articulate story teller, being able to connect, rich content well woven, timing, a nice bag, with water to drink...........using time to the fullest ..........felt sad it ended so soon.......will look for another occasion to experience the so labeled 'well known neighborhood' ........the walk around actually revived my interest in walking and exploring the nooks and corners.........an early childhood pastime...........so much to know.

I really enjoyed my walks with Akila and Swana. When I was with Akila at the Chennai market, we were standing at the road side and the cars, people and auto rickshaws would just brushed past us. I really like it! And I had such a wonderful time with Akila.

Madurai is wonderful because Akila and Swana are there with me in the rain. The walk went into the night with the auto rickshaw.

I had visited temples before this tour but have never gone with someone who was able to answer all of my questions. I enjoyed the Mylapore tour very very much. Really, the information given and the stories told created an experience that I couldn't possibly have found somewhere else. Thanks again!

After a week of standard "boring" tours of historical places, (along with listings of dates, places, and who-married-whos to live in each fortress/palace!), this tour was a great change!

I really appreciated actually having a tour with insights into the stories of how people lived, what happened, and where. I'd definitely recommend this tour for anyone looking to to learn about a new place, hear some interesting stories, or anyone who's had enough of your standard boring tours! It was one of the highlights of our touring across India!
