Our group had a reservation at the Golden Tulip, which we reconfirmed twice on the day of arrival - once in the morning and once at 6 PM. After a long drive from Agra, we finally got to the hotel late in the evening, at which point we were informed that no rooms were available. The staff then told us that we'd been moved to another hotel on the outskirts of Jaipur, which took us another hour to reach. We were incredulous that they didn't bother to communicate this before we arrived. Completely unacceptable.

Spent under 10 hours here on a cold wintry night after driving down from Delhi ... The room is comfortable and the breakfast spread large.

Fairly dependable.

A great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Jaipur. Hotel and rooms are modern and well appointed. The reception staff could have been more friendly and helpful however the breakfast were extremely attentive. The breakfast, especially the Indian food, was very good. We'd stay there again.

We arrived here following our disappointing stay at Ranthambhore Safari Lodge and what a pleasure to see such modern facilities; what's more we were upgraded to a suite (completely unnecessary but nice all the same!). We booked via Asia Rooms having paid £108 for two nights B&B. Oh what joy a decent cup of coffee brings, let alone a glass of very pleasant local white wine (Zinza). The suite had all the usual trapping including two plasma TVs, two bathroom facilities, robes, slippers etc and blissfully quiet a/c.

The hotel has two restaurants: a roof top one specialising in tandoor/bbq foods. We visited this one evening but didn't eat their because it was too ,much too dark at the tables. They were, however, filming something for an Indian TV series so it was fun to stand and watch. The restaurant inside served a range of cuisines and the quality was good at reasonable prices. House wine (Zinza) was about 1600 rps bottle (great value and very good wine).
Service was prompt, friendly and courteous.

We would definitely make a bee-line for the Golden Tulip if we find ourselves in Jaipur again.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in October 2009. This is an excellent hotel, although somewhat expensive for India at about $100 per night. Apparently, that's what you have to pay to get a modern, clean room with good a/c in this country. The room was very nice, perhaps of 3* quality by US hotel standards. The staff was also excellent, and the restaurant very good. The surrounding neighborhood is somewhat trashy, but I suppose that's typical for India. Overall, this was perhaps the nicest hotel during our 1 month tour of the country.

  • Liked — nice, clean, nodern rooms
  • Disliked — trashy neighborhood

We stayed in Golden Tulip for 2 nights and 3 days and the overall exp was nothing less then awesome. Cant say about the high season but we travelled in Sep and the hotel was decently occupied. I spent 7000 for 2 nights which gave me an excellent room with shower cubicle, bath tub in the bathroom. Mind you I have travelled extensively through India and didnt got the luxury of having both tub & shower cubicle in a bathroom of an ordinary room in any 5 star hotel even. I booked a deluxe room which was not a suite but still the luxury it offered in 3500 a night was simply awesome.

Coming to food and hospitality. The staff is well behaved and quite responsive towards your needs. The food was absolutely great and value on your pocket too. We had an evening buffet for 2 people for 750 Rs that included whole variety of food, desserts and corona beer. We had food around 4 times in 2 days with in the hotel and liked it every time.

Apart from this the hotel had a swimming pool on the roof top which was although small but quite great as it was on 9th floor and breeze on the roof top was good as it is always required in hot weather of jaipur. The hotel had a gym also but didnt had time to explore.

Apart from this our package also included a taxi with driver for local sightseeing with a limit for 8 hrs or 80 kms whichever is less for a day on a per day basis. The car was also logan which was quite great. So we drove to jaipur and parked the car in hotel and took their service which was much needed in city of jaipur as the driving conditions are bad in jaipur as per me.

I seriously recommend this property as it is also located in the heart of city within reach from anywhere and still gives you the best value for your money.
