“Exceeding Expectations!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We booked a room at Barwara Kothi online based on past reviews and found the homestay truly worth what was on offer- even exceeding our expectations gauged from such reviews. The rooms were very very clean and dust free which is unusual for a desert state. The effort behind preserving the royal touch was palpable. Kids enjoyed the fountain and the lawn. The breakfast was always excellent. Connectivity to rest of city and railway station was good, although we preferred auto-rickshaws. The Nepali staff were courteous and helpful. In short exceeded our expectations. Ms Deepali Singh was always available to provide frank and sensible inputs on places to visit, especially for us with kids in tow.

This is a really nice, well done-up, comfortable place to stay in a very decent location in Jaipur. We stayed there for 3 nights, and we absolutely enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful, with spacious and tastefully decorated rooms with all the basic amenities to make a comfortable stay. The service was adequate and the staff were courteous. Deepali, the owner of the place, was very much available for her guests to provide friendly suggestions. Overall, I would love to go back there again and would recommend this place to everyone.

Room Tip: Rooms upstairs get more sunlight.

We stayed at this wonderful homestay for one night on our Golden Triangle Tour. Not only were we impressed, our driver went out of his way to get leafletes so he could use the place for future clients.

Where do I start, it was such a wonderful experience! We arrived late afternoon and were shown to our room by the staff member, he did not ask for our reservation or any confirmation, he told us the owner would be along later and would deal with it, he just made us feel welcome and at home.

The room was large and airy, and had all you could want, a large en-suite, a/c, telvision, fridge, balcony, marble floors. Oh! and a wi-fi second to none. The gardens were large and well kept, we felt a little like the aristocracy.

We asked to have dinner that evening and we were asked when we would like it! We went across the road to the Spice Garden Bar and Restraunt and had a few beers in very pleasant surroundings and wondered if we should have in fact ate there, we were glad we didn't.

When we went to dinner at the homestay, we found ourselves to be the only guests. The three course (buffet) dinner was out of this world, freshly cooked and tastey. We were introduced to the cook and later on in the evening the owner dropped in to see if everything was good, it was perfect. The cost 500rp each (about $10US).

Breakfast was also wonderful, all buffet, with cereals, fruit juice, fruit, omlets and Indian food.

The home was a beautifully presented building with artifacts, comfort and history, a truely memorable experience. The staff so friendly and attentive and the owner so rightly proud of her business!

If you are ever in Jaipur you cannot go past this, the price was approx $70US, worth a lot more. Our only regret, we didn't stay for longer. Thank you so much.

To top all of this off, the place was spotless.

Room Tip: They are all good.

We stayed at the family's house for 4 nights. The room and bathroom were very spacious and clean. The service is excellent and it feels like coming home after a hectic day in Jaipur. Also, the owner gave us a lot of tips regarding places to eat and things to see. Make sure you do not miss Jammie's restaurant in Jaipur, delicious Indian food and very cheap (this was recommended by the owner).

Found this place via Trip Advisor and was also recommended by a couple of Local Rajput Friends !!
Was Lucky to get their promotional price due to off season !
A great Homestay feels like ur at home.
Very simple and Basic.
Basics:
1.Staff is very Cordial.
2. The Owner Ms Singh is a extremely helpful and Nice lady and goes out of her way to help her guests.
3.Breakfast i had the Semolina Poha, Guys im a indian Breakfast lover and it was awesome...the bits of Crunchy dal hitting ur back tongue and the tanginess was really good.
4. Rooms are nice and spacious.
5. Privacy is great as staff is there at your beck and call but never on ur head.. Feels good.
6. Durwan was extremely courteous as i had a checkout at 4 45 am, he came and woke me up when my car came and also helped me with my luggage down not common in b&b's.
7. Location is excellent as the city is ten mins around.
8.My only suggestion would be to have some more lighting in the rooms .
9. Also the only thing i did not like was that in my room room i had blue colour bedsheets which were torn in certain areas. The pillows and under sheet were spick and span and white no doubt.
10. The TV could be slightly bigger as the distance is huge.

Guys its completely a women run team here in terms of the owners and we should give them credit for doing whatever they have done and lets encourage them.
Regards

Chitvan Jaipuria
