We stayed at the Sajjan Niwas on March 28th. The atmosphere is very charming and it is an interesting hotel, however, we would agree with some other reviews here. The front desk was virtually non-existent. The food was ok, but not great and while the entertainment at the roof top restaurant was good, there was pressure to pay for it and no way to just relax and enjoy dinner. The entertainers worked very hard to engage over and over and then pressure to pay. We too were not allowed to use our credit card, an expense we had not planned on. The pool was under (poor) construction and not ready. AC in rooms were turned off when you went anywhere (even for meals) and were stuffy upon return. The location was not great. It was an ok place to stay, but not anything terribly special, aside from interesting decor (much gloomier than website photo). The hotel next door door (Narain Niwas) was MUCH nicer and made it that much more obvious that this hotel lacked some things.
