We chose the hotel because 1) it was close to the bus station (walking distance) which we needed to go on to Udaipur 2) it has a pool 3) it was recommend by Lonely Planet

The hotel was really great (i would say one of the best on our trip). The location is a little bit off (close to bus stand) but the city center is easily reachable by TukTuk for a cheap price. the offsite also meant that it is a really quiet place.
the rooms are really nicely decorated. the pool location is also very nice and refreshing. the hotel is nicely maintained, the staff is highly motivated (hard to find in India for this price range).
We also had dinner there in the outside and it was really good food and the staff really looked after us to have a great time

if you are looking for a budget hotel, this is more of more expensive one, but still affordable and really worth the money

I was hoping to find this hotel as charming as other trip advisor posts claimed it to be, but the reality is that the accommodations were average. Behind the ornately decorated rooms is a loud air conditioner, a shower that can overflow, and a hard bed (we thought we were getting a king but it was really two twins pushed together). The upside is the staff were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast on the terrace was pleasant.

Room Tip: They originally gave us a room on the main street and we asked to be switched to something quieter...

The small hotel is lovely to walk in to and can be a calm welcom relief from the hustle and bustle of central Jaipur. I was greeted and shown to my room, which was lovely and spacious with a nice bathroom.

At dinner, they serve a buffet sort of arrangement and I'm allergic to chillies, which, when I told one of the servers, went to the kitchen and had some chicken and vegetables made for me, which was lovely. Later on going back to room, the female manager of the hotel introduced herself, which was a nice touch.

I stayed for a few nights and only had a couple of small issues. Jaipur is exceptionally noisy, which is to be expected, but the hotel doesn't exactly have double glazing. So I'd definitely suggest ear plugs and a pillow over your head if you're a light sleeper! The only other thing was the toilet - it doesn't say anywhere that you have to put toilet paper in the bin rather than down the loo. I had 2 rooms (I initially stayed for 1 night, then went to a wedding, then returned and given a different room) - the first was fine, but in the second the loo began being blocked with the paper.

Other than that, it has a lovely little pool and is very central to the main areas you'd probably want to visit.

We arrived in Jaiphur by car from Vrindavan. That was a very enjoyable drive! Scenery complete with herds of camels, & country life. Upon arrival here ,we were greeted warmly & our bags were taken in. The staff is most accommodating. The rooms were very clean & pleasant, tastefully decorated. There were many little alcoves throughout the hotel to use wi fi. There is a "sitting room" on the 1st floor, as well as a "library" ( we didn't see it, but I'm sure it was a nice as the rest of the surroundings!) The pool looked inviting, altho, we didn't take the time to use it!
On the patio, dinner is served. This is a very tranquil, & safe place located in the middle of the city & close to everything. We would definitely stay here again.

This is an old family house, set in pretty gardens and has been lovingly restored and renovated, but still has modern conveniences. Although located on a quiet street, it is behind the chaotic and bustling (that is putting it mildly) bus station.
Warm greeting at reception and shown up to our room – 208. This was a large, beautiful room which appeared newly renovated and decorated. The style was ‘colonial’, with a lovely old writing desk and sideboard, two king sized beds, each with a beautifully embroidered cover. The bathroom was modern with two sinks and a large walk in shower. Good quality toiletries are available, but again ‘white’ towels that were grey. The air-con was good and there were two ceiling fans. Sadly, no safety deposit in the room. The hotel said that they would try to get one, but this proved impossible. However, we believe this was because of the recent renovations and something that will be rectified – a little investigation with other guests found that they did indeed have safety deposit boxes in their rooms. Also, no hairdryer in this room, but again this might be rectified in the future.
Although the wardrobe was stylish it was very small and only contained 2 coat hangers. More were requested (we were staying 4 nights), but only 2 turned up. Oh well – we managed! Wifi was free, but never worked in our room unfortunately, and was even hit and miss near the router, located near reception.
In the room there were tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge and 2 bottles of water left for us each day.
To our delight, the room was very clean with no dust – hurrah!
We took dinner here in the evening, a delicious buffet served in the courtyard. There was plenty of choice for vegetarians plus a meat dish and pleasant service.
As the buffet dinner was so good, we were rather disappointed in the breakfast, which we can only call adequate. A couple of juices, a very small amount of fresh fruit, awful coffee (the dreaded powdered Nescafé), toast & jam, scrambled or boiled eggs (both pre-cooked) & a couple of Indian warm dishes – Idly etc.
The courtyard pool was pleasant, particularly after a day of sightseeing.
Despite a couple of hiccups, this is a lovely, tranquil hotel and the close proximity to the bus station shouldn’t put you off. However, we would recommend getting either a taxi or tuktuk if you go out in the evening.
This was a favourite hotel from our trip to India, and highly recommended.

Room Tip: We believe that the non-ground floor rooms are lighter and quieter.

I planned the trip late (i.e. 3 weeks ahead). Because of car problems, my friend and I arrived just before midnight. Not only was the desk attendant waiting for us, but he had the room open, with the AC turned on!

But when we entered the room, life got unexpectedly better. I had requested a twin room with 2 beds... we were given 2 adjoining rooms, each with its own bath, but charged only for the twin room!!!! The rooms were immaculate with comfortable beds (not the "boards" of most Indian beds). Everything was clean and fresh.

The pool is small but lovely. Breakfast buffet was very good (and even when we arrived late, the staff accommodated us with more scrambled eggs, fruit, etc), and the dinner offerings were not only the buffet, but we were able to order off the lunch menu.

On our last evening, we met the daughter of the owner, and she helped us locate an ayurvedic medicine shop.

Overall, my experience with Dera Rawatsar was outstanding. I will return next time I go to Jaipur.

I came with my family for my annual vacation and I am glad I chose this property, I was pampered, the owners who made us feel like we were a part of their family. The hotel staff was very courteous, they made an extra effort to find out our likes and dislikes to make our trip a comfortable and a memorable one. I loved their pan cakes which was a pleasant surprise, I did not find Pan cakes on the menu of any of the hotels at which I stayed during my trip. I would recommend anyone visiting Jaipur to stay at this property
