This was a lovely hotel with nice decor and ambience. The room and bathroom were clean and the shower was very powerful! Finally, the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast could be improved but overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

A small property centrally located in a residential area of Jaipur city near M.I. Road with nice spacious room & bathroom. Overall the place is laid out like a mini palace of moguls & rajputs who were ruling India a few centuries ago. In a nutshell, Umaid Mahal gives you a feel and experience of how the royals used to live a few hundred years ago plus modern amenities to make today's traveler comfortable. Overall, we had a good experience. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The rooftop restaurant was nice and most of the kebabs we tried were good. The breakfast buffet gets a thumbs down as it was very average with very little to choose from. Umaid Mahal is value for money

Room Tip: Try to get rooms with balcony on 3rd or 4th floor. Lower levels are a bit claustrophobic as the prop...

The rooms were wonderful. The ambiance recreated a heritage property. The stay was comfortable and the staff helpful. Though some of the advise given was incorrect, I appreciate the help extended.
The food definitely needs improvement and the service in the restaurant staff is poor. They ran out of food during breakfast and the refills took forever and other items were over by 9.30 am even though breakfast is supposed to be till 10 am. They could add nonveg items like bacon and sausages to improve the variety. Dinner was also disappointing with cold meat served in grilled starter. Good place to stay but not eat.

The hotel is very clean and tiduy. The fresco work on walls and ceilings is colorful and instantly makes u feel u r really in Rajasthan. The food at the restuarant is average. Staff is very helpful and room service is quick.

Room Tip: No baby cots available so if you have kids/toddlers make sure u ask for an extra bed(paid)

The hotel has a magnificent entrance and hallway / atrium - just like a palace. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The menu in the breakfast buffet has items for all age groups. We had no problem as the taxi with its helpful driver was always on/before time ;)

The driver was also guiding us by detailing on several monuments while we were on our way.

We had a great stay there.

Room Tip: I can not say but we had our room on the third floor. Anyway, one has to leave the room after breakf...

I stayed a few days at the Umaid Mahal. As a western woman travelling on her own I felt extremely safe and looked after. The staff were very warm and friendly, the rooms clean and the rooftop restaurant serves outstanding food.

Magnificent entrance and hallway / atrium - just like a palace. despite some previous reviews, we found the staff friendly and helpful - perhaps its all down to attitude. We stayed here 2 nights in 2 rooms to visit Jaipur and the Amber Fort and found the hotel comfortable and the food both breakfast and dinner very good. As were had a driver, we had no problem with the taxi lads outside. Once they found we did not need their services we chatted a fair time with them - and again at the Amber fort where we came across one of them. For our purposes, the hotel was well located. When we had an afternoon looking around Jaipur by ourselves, the tuc tuc ride was a mere 100 rupees from the centre. I must say that Jaipur was one of our favourite places onb our tour.. only complaint about the hotel was the hairdryers in both rooms which did not work and were not replaced - we had brought our own anyway but that's not the point.
