We stayed there for 3 nights in a Royal deluxe room on 2nd floor. Location is very good. Our booking was nicely handled. The room has nice interior designs and a modern bathroom. The hotel had lots of well maintained paintings including portraits and royal functions. The corridors and lobby had exquisite lighting's, interior decorations and paintings. The food was good & optimally priced at the restaurant. The breakfast buffet was also excellent with multiple options. The staff were courteous and helpful. Overall we had an wonderful heritage experience during our visit on Jan 2014.

We stayed there for 3 nights in a Royal deluxe room on 5 th floor. Location is very good. Our booking was nicely handled and we were given a upgraded room. The room was king size with a small balcony, nice interior designs and a modern bathroom. The hotel had lots of well maintained paintings including portraits and royal functions. The corridors and lobby had exquisite lighting's, interior decorations and paintings. The food was good at rooftop restaurant. The breakfast buffet was average. The only complain i have is regarding the huge no of foreign guests and undue importance given to them by most of the staffs, at times causing inconvenience to Indian guests. Also the quality of the water in the pool was poor. Overall we had a nice heritage experience in March 2012.

Room Tip: Take a room on south side.

All in all a good palce to stay . Special thanks to Mr Ranvijay the GM, who went out of the way to adjust my bookings thos its a pity i could not meet him. Positives- great rooms with all facilities, ok buffet at breakfast. Negatives- as the hotel is very popular with foreigners due to the great reviews on tripadvisor, the service staff tend to ignore Indians especially at the restaurant. But leaving that aside a good stay.

The rooms are the best thing about the hotel. Very impressive. Nice large comfortable bed. Room had a balcony which was nice.

The hotel has so much detail which is great, so much to look in every room.

The roof top resturant was closed unfortunately so didn't get to go eat there but went up and the view was amazing so would recommend giving the restaurant a go for the view.

The restaurant downstair was really nice however didn't find the staff here to be very friendly, in fact one guy who served us drinks on several occasions didn't actually speak to us once.

We had 4 nights in the Umaid Mahal and had a lovely time. Room 310 +had a nice view from the balcony and had everything you might need including tea making facilities, fridge, tv, great shower and WiFi. We found the mattress to be thin and hard but they put another on top which solved the problem. The staff could not be nicer especially in the restaurant. We ate there each night because the food was so good especially the chicken tikka and the chef,s special vegetables and naan. The roof terrace is a lovely place to relax and have a chai masala. We took tuktuks everyday from directly outside the hotel and had no problems as long as you agree a price first - 150 rupees at most into the pink city which is stunning and a fun place to shop. Don't miss "the wind palace". Overall a great place to stay - friendly service, spotless rooms and public spaces and excellent value. Thank you everyone at the Umaid Mahal.

Room Tip: The front gets no Sun so good in the heat. If you want big room and sunshine go for the back rooms.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in on a price vs quality basis.

After 9 hours of busing and walking I was delighted to spend a few nights in this place and find out breakfast was included.

Huge bedrooms with four poster beds, separate dressing room and great powerful shower.

Delicious restaurant on top & although my girlfriend are big advocates of eating local, we did enjoy a nice meal there. Despite being more expensive than most other restaurants around the setting was great up on the roof top with the sun setting.

Friendly staff and very professional.

Take care getting a taxi from outside, they know what your worth and thus what they'll charge if you hail nearby.

Thanks to the staff for a pleasant stay.

We stayed there for 5 nights on December 2010. This hotel is exactly how we prefer hotels in a foreign country, small, stylish, with a special atmosphere. It has traditional indian architecture and decoration, both the interior and the exterior. Its entrance is a piece of art. The hotel is situated on a quiet district, away from the crazyness of the city, about 15 minutes from the pink city with a ricksaw, which is very easy to find. Our room was on the last floor, spacious and elegant, very clean and had everything we needed. Staff was helpful and we arranged several day sightseen trips around. The hotel provides wi-fi and a pc room which was very helpful in planing the rest of our trip. Breakfast had great variety of both indian and continental choices and was tasteful. We also had very delicious dinners on the charming open-air roof terrace restaurant which had a very big selection of indian dishes and a really welcoming and kind man in charge. The only minor complain is that the staff was a bit noisy in the early morning. We would definitely stay there again!
