“Decent Hotel”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights during Dushera. The rooms are decent and the hotel decor was good, however it does not match the brochure or website pictures. The place is clean and they provided a decent internet service. The location of the hotel is pretty good however it is situated at a quite place which was great. The swimming pool in this hotel is only for eyes only, it is too small!
We found the place slightly expensive, staffs were discrete and the service was good. The breakfast spread was very limited, however the Indian food was pretty tasty (we had dinner at room). They charge a hefty amount as room service additional charge which was disappointing.
Rooms, toilet and the linen was clean and we did not have any other issue. The A/C is pretty old and need upgrade.
We were charged Rs 3500/- per room(Double occupancy - Royal Deluxe room), based on my experience in other hotel, I would say if you get the rooms below Rs 3000/- it is worth staying at this place. The child policy of this hotel needs improvement and flexibility.

The catalogs were very nice pictures,I thought it will be the best hotel in my life. The building is very nice from the outside, but unfortunately the rooms are not as nice and comfortable as brochures.Ours was relatively small . In the wardrobe wasn't light . If you went to the air conditioner, it was so loud that you could not sleep,if it did not work, it was very hot.The staff is very friendly and helpful anyway. The restaurant is good, the breakfast is generous.
Unfortunately it was a bit far from the center of Jaipur.

I stayed in umaid mahal from 24th Oct to 26th Oct 2012. Really it was a very good experience. The Royal Delux room was good for private stay. The staffs working there are very good and humble. The breakfast buffet in the morning has got some nice collection of items to eat. Really enjoyed my stay there.

This fabulous hotel is in a quiet residential street We walked through the gate to be confronted with a fabulous facade. Inside, the decoration is just as impressive. We had a ground floor room (good for a couple of tired oldies) but there was a lift to other floors and the excellent rooftop restaurant which provided the BEST food, cold beer and wonderful , friendly service. The downstairs bar and breakfast room were again fabulously decorated, so there was plenty to look at while we enjoyed our sumptuous buffet breakfast. I was very glad of the pool after a day of sightseeing in the pink city and it had nice clean facilities and towels. I don't believe you could ask for a better hotel!

We spotted and booked rooms in Umaid Mahal based on various reviews in trip advisor. The hotel was a relatively small one, the rooms were clean and toilets were clean. I was disappointed that they did not provide a tea kettle in the room. The hotel is located in what looked to be a residential area. Though our room had a balcony, it overlooked another apartment and we could not use the balcony. There are no shops nearby spare a solitory hotel (Hotel Gayathri) once you walk a little bit on the main road. It appeared that the hotel is an old residential house converted to a hotel albeit with very good decorations. The travel desk had a prompt service and the drive we got for our trip was a friendly driver and though he mentioned about places to buy things, stopped there only if we wanted to. All in all, it was a good hotel but for the location and lack of tea kettle which I strongly believe the hotel management could have provided. The staff in the hotel are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a swimming pool but I did not see anyone use the swimming pool.

Hotel is wonderfully styled and full of tasteful and interesting objects and artwork from the region. The large, superbly furnished bedrooms are very, very comfortable and a delight to return to at the end of the day. The food is also good. The morning buffet breakfast will satisfy most Indian stomachs.
